President's Message

Hello, Friends,

Growth rarely happens overnight.

Whether in our organizations, our careers, or our communities, meaningful progress is usually the result of steady investment, intentional care, and patience. In many ways, fundraising mirrors the rhythm of spring—seeds planted long before they bloom, relationships nurtured long before they bear visible fruit.

As we move into March and the promise of a new season, I’m reminded that much of what we do as fundraisers happens beneath the surface. We cultivate trust. We listen well. We steward generously. The results may not always be immediate, but over time, those faithful efforts create lasting impact for the missions we serve.

Spring is also a natural moment to reflect on our own professional growth. How are we strengthening our skills this year? Where are we stretching ourselves? Who are we learning from? One of the greatest gifts of AFP is the opportunity to grow alongside peers who understand both the challenges and the rewards of this work.

As we continue into 2026, I encourage you to see this season as an invitation to plant new seeds, to nurture existing relationships, and to lean into opportunities within our chapter. Whether that means attending a program, connecting with a fellow member, or registering for the Philanthropy in Action Conference coming up in June, each step contributes to a stronger year ahead.

The work we do matters. And like spring itself, growth will come.

Warm regards,

Evan White

How to Raise with Giving Circles

Harnessing the Power of Collective Giving

Giving circles are one of the fastest-growing forms of philanthropy, bringing people together to pool resources, make decisions collectively, and drive greater impact. In this session, Tyeshia Wilson, Senior Director of Community at Philanthropy Together, will show how fundraisers can adapt the giving circle model to engage donors, build stronger communities, and raise sustainable funding that support nonprofit organizations. Whether you're a development professional, program leader, or CEO, you'll gain practical strategies to integrate collective giving into your fundraising toolkit.
