BE(the)CAUSE or BECAUSE…
I remember when the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy first started this campaign. They had all of us fill out a placard beginning with the words, “I GIVE BECAUSE.” I remember writing down my reason for giving. I have been fortunate to be a donor to the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy for the past 18 years. During that time, my gift has grown as my reason for giving has changed. I have been able to see my gift's impact, not only on the gift the Dallas Chapter receives, but also in the lives of our scholarship recipients, especially the happiness I experience when I hear their heartfelt appreciation for being able to attend a major AFP conference. I know that many of you feel the same.
Our local chapter has its own AFP Now! campaign, which dedicates 30% percent of money raised to the national AFP Foundation for Philanthropy BE(the)CAUSE campaign. Jana Haigood of the Alcuin School is doing an amazing job heading up this critical campaign for our local chapter. This year your Greater Dallas Chapter board of directors has pledged to give over $10,000 to AFP Now! We are asking that chapter members partner with the board to give at least another $5,000.

I am joining Jana in asking you to please make your pledge today. As many of you are aware, this has not been an easy time for many professional membership organizations. We can really use your gift to help our chapter as we continue to provide scholarships and professional educational opportunities for all of our members.
Thank you in advance for standing with us.
