President's Message
Dear AFP Friends,
I love April because I love spring! Everything is in bloom and while many are sneezing, it's a sign of warmer weather and outdoor activities. Speaking of activities, AFP member Kimberly Humphries is chairing the Dallas AFP National Philanthropy Luncheon in November and looking for volunteers! Please email her at khumphries@irvingcares.org and offer to help. It is a great way to meet fellow fundraisers and network at the same time.
I hope you received the new AFP Now! campaign brochure featuring the president of the Paul Quinn collegiate AFP chapter, Anita Crethers. Through a scholarship from the Dallas AFP Chapter, Anita is going to the AFP International Conference in San Diego. She is thrilled beyond words for this amazing experience. Thanks to all our members who have supported our AFP Now campaign to date. A gift of any size helps our fundraising colleagues like Anita. Click here to make your 2013 AFP Now! gift.
The AFP International Conference is this week in San Diego and 23 Dallas members are attending! You should also make plans to attend our fantastic local DFW Philanthropy Conference on June 7th at the Irving Convention Center, an action-packed day of educational sessions, exhibitors and sharing resources.
If you are considering joining the Greater Dallas Chapter AFP you'll be in great company. Since early February we have had 19 new members and 42 renewals. New members joining by June 30, 2013 can click here to download a mail-in coupon and take advantage of a $53 discount on dues, or use the same coupon offer online at www.afpnet.org by using the Promo Code JUNE13. A big thank you to our vice president for membership, Luanne Samuel, for her many emails to new and renewing members. If you have questions about the different levels of membership, please email Luanne at ls75002@gmail.com.
I hope to see many of you at our Funder's Panel chapter meeting at Arlington Hall on April 24th!
