Milton Key

During his 24 years as a fundraising professional,
Milton Key's passion for helping nonprofit organizations establish and reach their fundraising goals has led to millions of dollars raised, given by many donors, enabling many more bright futures. Most recently, Milton provided leadership in the successful $38.6 million capital campaign, for what will be the first inpatient hospice facility in Dallas - the Faith
Presbyterian Hospice T. Boone Pickens Hospice & Palliative
Care Center. As an AFP member since 1992, Milton has served in several leadership positions, including board member and president of the Greater Dallas Chapter and as a member of the AFP International Board of Directors. In 2014, the AFP Greater Dallas Chapter recognized Milton as its Outstanding Fundraising Executive.

Dear Friends,

Diana Marquis

The DFW Philanthropy Conference was last month, so that means summer is officially here. Penelope Burk and Suzanne Smith were amazing! Six hundred of my closest friends were with me at the Irving Convention Center. Were you there? If not, make your plans for next year.

And speaking of making plans, register for our next luncheon program, August 26th at noon at Arlington Hall. Milton Key, Partner, Alexander Haas, Inc., will present the findings of the 2015 "Giving USA Report on Philanthropy." This is sure to be a sold-out event, so make your reservation early.

It might be the middle of the summer, but your AFP Board is still working hard for you. We just held our first Young Professionals Happy Hour. We also hosted a New Member Happy Hour and five of AFP Dallas' past presidents joined me and chapter president-elect Judy Wright for our first-ever President's dinner.

July won't be completely void of programs. Terry Axelrod will be joining us for an Executive Conversation. This sold-out program was created to offer a unique and intimate program for our AFP members with ten years or more experience as professional fundraisers.

Our National Philanthropy Day Luncheon will be coming up on Friday, November 13th. Stay tuned for a special announcement concerning that event.

Before I close, I'm proud to share with you that the North Texas Chapter of Partnership for Philanthropic Planning and the Greater Dallas AFP will once again present, "Gift Planning on the Run" beginning in September. This is the second year for this joint effort, and it's already sold out. There is a waiting list so if you are interested, go to the North Texas PPP website.

I know I've mentioned this before, but it bears repeating - we are in the middle of our AFP Now! Campaign. You may ask, "Why do I need to contribute to AFP Now!? I already pay membership dues and I pay to attend the monthly luncheon programs." The answer is simple - monthly dues are shared with International AFP and monthly luncheon fees pay a fraction of the cost. The Greater Dallas Chapter AFP is a nonprofit organization. If you think we are doing a good job or think we need to do a better job, then we need your support. Please make your contribution now. Click here to make your donation and support your chapter.

Sincerely,

Diana Marquis, CFRE
