President's Message

Dear AFP Members & Friends,

Happy September! School is back in session so be aware of school zones. We had a great turnout at the August meeting on social media, with 17 first time visitors. Mark your calendars for the fourth Wednesday of the month, we have some awesome luncheon programs lined up for September and October.

Now is a great time to be an AFP member. Besides the Professional membership level, there are three new categories: Young Professional 30 and Under, Large Organization and Small Nonprofits. Read more here.

From now through November 30th, new Professional and Associate memberships receive $50 off their membership cost. Just include this coupon when you mail in your application and payment to receive the discount. If you have any questions regarding the membership categories above, please don't hesitate to contact our chapter administrator at afpchapteroffice@afpdallas.org or Luanne Samuel, VP/Membership, at ls75002@gmail.com.

For those new to the field of fundraising, September 13th is the deadline for early registration discounts and scholarship applications for the 2013 Fundamentals of Fundraising Course, to be held at Dallas Baptist University on October 10th and 11th.

How does a round trip for two on Southwest Airlines sound? You could be the lucky winner if you participate in our chapter's innovative annual AFP Now campaign with a tax deductible gift of $100 by October 31st. One of our chapter's outstanding traditions is ongoing networking and sharing of ideas and resources among our members. You can help maintain the Greater Dallas chapter's outreach by giving to the 2013 AFP Now! campaign today. 70% of your gift will stay with our chapter so we can continue to provide member scholarships and offer quality educational programming. Every gift, no matter the size, is important in fulfilling our mission to provide the greatest possible support for our members.

It is truly an honor to be serving as your President this year and I enjoy visiting with you at our meetings and via email. Special thanks to the outstanding Dallas Board and Committee members who generously share their time and talent to make our Greater Dallas Chapter a superior AFP Large Chapter!

Thank you for giving back to serve our community,
