Thank you to all our retired and active-duty service people and their families today and every day.
Today is the day to go out of your way to thank a veteran for their service to this country and to all of us.
No matter what the political divide, when it comes to love of this country and the fundamental rights, we all are given as citizens of this country, we unite.
All gave some, and some gave all.
Here are some important upcoming events I want you to be aware of:
Tuesday, December 7th @ 4pm the Chamber's Government Affairs team is proud to welcome Escondido Police Chief Ed Varso as our special guest. Chief Varso has been at the helm of the Police Department since the beginning of 2020. He will be discussing some of the challenges the department faces during the pandemic, how they focus on a community-based model via engagement, a commitment to trust, and creating enduring partnerships. And he will discuss the homeless population here in Escondido. Please join us, IN-PERSON, for another important discussion about your Escondido community!
The following day on Wednesday, December 8th @ 4pm, the Chamber's Economic Development team welcome’s Escondido's Deputy Director of Economic Development, Jennifer Schoeneck. She will be presenting a Cal Competes Tax Credit workshop, and this program promises to bring real relief to many Escondido businesses. Hear it from an expert on what it takes to apply step-by-step.

And finally, congratulations to City Council member Joe Garcia for organizing the rally to “Slow Down Escondido” this past Friday at City Hall. Thank you to all of you who came out in support. We all need to remember to slow down, pay attention and slow on the yellow.
Thank You,
James Rowten (JR)
