CEO's Corner
A reverse job fair is a new type of job fair that gives job seekers from Fort Dodge Senior High and Saint Edmond an opportunity to connect with employers who are looking for skilled, prepared, and job ready candidates. Job seekers creatively display and present their talents to employers who have the chance to circulate among the booths and introduce themselves to the participants whose skills and abilities meet their needs. All of the job seekers at this career fair face barriers to employment and this event gives them the opportunity to showcase their talents and interests.
Reverse job fairs can connect businesses with quality job seekers in a more relaxed environment and takes the burden off the employer to set up a booth, while having the opportunity to fill bottom line needs with specialization of skills and reach a diverse applicant pool.
The 2019 Reverse Job Fair is Tuesday, April 9th at Fort Dodge Senior High, starting at 8:30 a.m.

The Fort Dodge Community School District is excited to offer an opportunity for parents and community members to be certified in  Youth  Mental  Health  First Aid.
The  Youth  Mental  Health First Aid training course is designed for lay people to learn methods of assisting a young person who may be in the early stages of developing  mental  health issues or in a  mental  health crisis. This is designed for members of the public who have frequent contact with  youth and young adults, such as parents, school staff, sports coaches, and  youth workers/volunteers. It is most relevant when it is first apparent to an adult that a  youth or young adult is exhibiting signs of emotional, behavioral, or  mental  health challenges. It can also provide useful information on how to assist a young person who has had long term  mental  health challenges or a history of a serious  mental disorder.
We will be offering this 8 hour course on April 23 & 25 at the Fort Dodge Middle School. If you are interested in attending please sign up by April 15 using the link below.
