At MidAmerican, we are always ready to serve our customers, no matter the weather and we are already hard at work. While snowfall itself doesn’t generally threaten our electric delivery system, winter storms increase the risk of traffic crashes that can involve our equipment, such as utility poles. Heavy, wet snow that accumulates on trees can cause branches to fall, resulting in damage to overhead lines.

Our corporate communications office is keeping the public updated through news outlet communications, social media messages and website messages. These efforts help keep our customers updated on any outages and to reinforce storm safety messages.

In the case of a power outage, you can report it online, via social media or by calling us at 888-427-5632. We also encourage opting into text and email notifications via My Account for repair updates.

As always, we are here to support you as our customer and community partner – 24/7, 365. We will continue to provide updates on our website as well as through our social media channels. We will also provide updates as they become available, but please let us know if we can be of assistance or if you need anything.
