Hello Growth Alliance Members!
The City of Fort Dodge Development Services Department is announcing an opportunity for funding through a State of Iowa Economic Development Authority grant program. The Community Catalyst Building Remediation Program assists communities with the comprehensive, rehabilitation of important but vacant or underutilized buildings to stimulate economic growth or reinvestment in the community. These small to mid-level, city endorsed projects will come with a broad-based community support and serve as models for future investment in adjacent properties, downtowns or communities.
Strong applications will show the potential of catalytic economic growth in the community; improve appearance and safety; make use of underutilized property, exhibit appropriate design standards; and be well-funded. Economic growth may include the creation of additional jobs, growth of new or existing businesses, development of new housing units, increase property values or potential population growth.
The maximum grant is $100,000. Only one application per community; the City of Fort Dodge would be the applicant. Because Fort Dodge has been designated as a "Thriving Community," applications with a housing component will get bonus points.
Inquiries for pre-application are now being accepted through January 10, 2025, by contacting dlarson@fortdodgeiowa.org
