• UCF Football rallied from 21 points in the third quarter to pull off a stunning 35-34 victory over TCU last Saturday. The win marks UCF's first Big 12 Conference victory this season, and is the team's largest comeback since the Knights bounced back to beat Boise State in 2021. UCF will regroup during their bye week and prepare for next week as they host Deion Sanders and Colorado on Saturday, September 28 at FBC Mortgage Stadium.
• The Orlando Pride extended their record 21-game unbeaten streak once again following a scoreless draw against the Kansas City Current last Friday. The Pride (14-0-6, 48 points) continue to sit atop the NWSL rankings and now travel to face Bay FC tomorrow at 10:30pm EST.
• Orlando City SC secured its third consecutive victory last night defeating Charlotte FC 2-0 after getting off to a slow start. The Lions (12-10-7, 43 points) have not allowed a score in the past three games and held Charlotte to only two shots on goal the entire match. The Lions will continue their quest for the playoffs this Saturday at 7:30pm as they travel to face the Columbus Crew.
• The Orlando Magic announced the signings of multiple free agents who will join them for October’s training camp. Guard/forward Jarrett Culver, guard Myron Gardner and forwards Jalen Slawson and Tre Scott signed Exhibit 10 deals with the Magic, a person with knowledge of the terms told the Sentinel.

• The Orlando Solar Bears have announced that single-game tickets for the 2024-25 season are on sale now! The Solar Bears will play 36 home games during the 2024-25 season presented by Janney Roofing at the AdventHealth Rink at Kia Center, beginning with the club's home opener against the Savannah Ghost Pirates on Saturday, October 26 at 7:00pm.
• The Osceola Magic, NBA G League affiliate of the Orlando Magic, have announced the team schedule for the 2024-25 regular season, and single-game tickets are now on sale! The Magic will kick off their season Friday, November 8 at Osceola Heritage Park when they host the Austin Spurs at 7:00pm.
• The Pro Volleyball Federation announced it will play a 28-game slate for the 2025 campaign, an increase of four games from last season. The league is also adding another team to the mix to give the league eight teams overall. The Orlando Valkyries and the rest of the teams will now play 14 home games and 14 away games, seeing league opponents a total of four times each.

In The News.

• Seminole County Public Schools will soon build a $24 Million replacement of Lake Mary Elementary School. The district is seeking a construction manager at risk for the project, and will include the establishment of several portable buildings in the summer of 2025. The second phase of construction will include a two-story, 65,000-square-foot structure and a new clean energy plant. Building eight would be renovated, with buildings one through seven and nine being demolished.
• Brightline has announced several new offers coming soon to the company, including the expansion fleet of eight train sets with 30 new coaches over the next year, including 20 Smart class cars and 10 premium cars. Brightline will also start a loyalty program for riders in the first half of 2025, and will allow riders to order food, beverages and other items from their seats via a website.
• Osceola County Commissioners approved a non-binding memorandum of understanding tied to the Orlando Sun Resort & Spa earlier this week. The approval creates a 120-day period for a development agreement to be reached and approved with Meyers Group — which is seeking to buy the shuttered 900-room resort. Meyers has proposed the project to include proposed the project to include hotels, a parking garage, restaurants, conference and meeting room space, museums, live entertainment and more with its initial investment estimated at $192 million.
• RosenCare, the health organization founded by Rosen Hotels and Resorts founder Harris Rosen and PeopleOne Health, has announced they are opening four health centers in Orange County. The two organizations have partnered with Orange County Public Schools to provide primary care, pharmacy, mental health services and more to the school system's 24,000 employees and their families.
• The arena that hosts Stetson University's basketball and volleyball games will now be called the Insight Credit Union Arena at Edmunds Center, the university announced last week. The arena currently seats 5,000 people, but just concluded phase one of a $7 million renovation that upgraded the seats, bathrooms, locker rooms, sound system and more.

• Iradimed Corporation will soon double its number of high-wage jobs at its upcoming $20 million headquarters currently under construction near the University of Central Florida. The medical device firm held a ceremonial groundbreaking earlier this week for its 60,000-square-foot headquarters and plans to add 160 new jobs at the facility in May of 2025.

• The Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance attraction at Disney's Hollywood Studios theme park was named best dark ride during the Golden Ticket Awards presentation last weekend. This is the second consecutive win for Rise of the Resistance, which also won the award for best new attraction in 2020-21. The Golden Ticket Awards are run by industry magazine Amusement Today.
• Universal Orlando has announced a 17-act lineup for the 2025 edition of Rock The Universe, the Christian music festival held at Universal Studios theme park. The event includes two nights of concerts on the Music Plaza Stage, a Sunday morning worship service, fan zones featuring up-and-coming acts and autograph sessions, plus access to some of the park's major attractions. The event will be held on January 24 & 26, 2025.
• SeaWorld Orlando's Howl-O-Scream is up and running presenting scares in mythical, comical, agricultural and industrial ways. This is the fourth year for SeaWorld's Halloween fest, and the park has four new haunted houses in addition to seven scare zones across the property. Howl-O-Scream is an after-hours, extra-ticket event held on select nights through November 2.
• Join the City of Orlando's celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month at the Hispanic Heritage Art Exhibit running from September 17 - November 3 at City Hall's Terrace Gallery. The exhibit, titled Pioneers of Change: Shaping The Future Together, features a variety of art pieces by local visual artists that showcase the richness of Latin American history, culture and heritage through visual arts. A Community Celebration Event with Latin food, music and live entertainment will be held on October 3, 2024.
• Country Thunder Florida returns to Osceola Heritage Park on October 18-20 this year featuring electrifying performances from Luke Combs, Bailey Zimmerman, Jon Pardi, and more. • Orlando's new outdoor cinema experience, Kaleidoscope 360, launces this October at Luminary Green Park in the Creative Village. Starting with a pre-show at 6:30pm and the main feature at 7:00pm, the evening concludes with Luminary Nights on the Green—a 20-minute show featuring projected animations and lighting synchronized to music.
