- The Orlando Magic unveiled a new logo and three new uniforms during a special celebration at the Kia Center on Tuesday, June 3. The three new uniforms, Association (white), Icon (blue) and Statement (black) have evolved into modern classics, honoring the rich history of the Magic’s most iconic jerseys while ushering in a new era of Orlando Magic basketball. The updated look includes the team’s secondary logo with the iconic star behind the ball appearing in motion, reflecting the team propelling forward and building on the heritage and history of the Magic from its birth in 1989.
- The Orlando Pride return from international break this Saturday, June 7 to host the Houston Dash at Inter&Co Stadium at 7:00pm. From UEFA Women's Nations League to international friendlies, this break saw nine different Pride players don their countries' colors. The Pride (6-3-1, 19 points) are currently ranked third in the NWSL standings, just one point shy of second place.

Major League Soccer has opened the voting process for the 2025 MLS All-Star Game, which includes participation by players, fans, and media. The 2025 All-Star Game will be hosted by Austin FC at Q2 Stadium on Wednesday, July 23, and will feature the MLS All-Stars taking on a team of All-Stars from Mexico’s top soccer league, LIGA MX. The Big 12 Conference has announced the times and network designations for the first three weeks of the 2025 football season. UCF opens the 2025 campaign with a 7:00pm kickoff on Thursday, Aug. 28 against Jacksonville State on ESPN+. In Week Two, the Knights will kick off at 7:00pm on Saturday, Sept. 6, also on ESPN+, as they host North Carolina A&T.

After one of the most talked about bowl games in recent memory, filled with unforgettable moments on and off the field, the Pop-Tarts Bowl is set to return in 2025, with the internet’s favorite postseason clash slated for Saturday, Dec. 27 at 3:30pm on ABC. This year’s game — the third under Pop-Tarts' title partnership — will be the 36th edition of the bowl overall and the 25th played at Orlando’s Camping World Stadium.

The 80th edition of the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl is set for Wednesday, Dec. 31, closing out a yearlong celebration of one of college football’s most historic postseason games. The New Year's Eve matchup, featuring top teams from the Southeastern and Big Ten Conferences, will kick off at 3:00pm on ABC, serving as a lead-in to that evening’s College Football Playoff quarterfinals.
- The 2025 StaffDNA Cure Bowl will be played at Camping World Stadium on Wednesday, Dec. 17. Kickoff for the 11th annual StaffDNA Cure Bowl is set for 5:00pm on ESPN. Memberships, hospitality, and sponsorship packages are available now.
- The Orlando Solar Bears have announced the team has been named finalists for several prestigious ECHL awards. In recognition of their outstanding achievements during the 2024-25 season, the Solar Bears have been nominated for Marketing Team of the Year (2023-24 winner), Most Creative Ticket Package, Game Operations Team of the Year, Social Media Team of the Year, Ticket Department Team of the Year, Group Department of the Year, and the ECHL Team Award of Excellence. The winners of these awards will be announced at the 2025 ECHL Hockey Summer Meetings, which will take place on Wednesday, June 25 at the Westgate Resort right here in Orlando.

After a busy month of May, Orlando City SC gets a break from matches as the Lions head into June on international break. A total of six first-team players will spend the week representing their countries on the international stage. The Lions (7-4-6, 27 points) will return to MLS action on Saturday, June 14 and travel to face the Colorado Rapids at 9:30pm.

The Orlando Squeeze are currently in second place of the Major League Pickleball standings as they continue their strong 2025 season. The Squeeze will have a break from competition throughout the month of June and return to the courts on Thursday, July 3 - Sunday, July 6 for the MLP Washington, D.C. Tournament.

The University of Central Florida received nearly $21 million in revenue from the Big 12 Conference during its first season in the Power 4 league. According to the most recent 990 tax documents obtained by Orlando Sentinel, the conference reported $493.82 million in total revenue for the 2023-24 fiscal year. This was the first year the Knights were members of the Big 12 Conference, adding BYU, Cincinnati and Houston.

Walt Disney World officials shared details of its new "Cars"-themed land coming to Magic Kingdom, called Piston Peak National Park. The land, located in the Liberty Square and Frontierland areas, will be part of the “largest expansion in the history of Magic Kingdom,” officials said. Guests will be able to explore a visitor’s lodge, Ranger HQ, trails and more.

Camping World Stadium, which was founded in 1936, now enters its busiest month ever, brimming with high-profile programming. In the span of 31 days, the iconic stadium will host seven major events, including concerts by Shakira, Post Malone and Stray Kids, along with four FIFA Club World Cup matches. The City of Orlando’s continued efforts to modernize the stadium has enabled it to attract these milestone events, remain competitive among its best-in-class peers and thrive as an economic engine for the Central Florida community.

Orlando city council members approved a $105,000 contract to start construction on The Canopy, which will be built on 10 acres underneath I-4. The area will become an entertainment space with art and light shows, while integrating different forms of transportation for convenience. The project will stretch from Church Street to Washington Street and be bordered by Garland Avenue and Hughey Avenue.

Creative City Project and SeaWorld Orlando have partnered together to bring three inflatable penguins to downtown Orlando. These larger-than-life installations are meant to commemorate the arrival of real, normal-to-life Emperor Penguins, coming to SeaWorld Orlando’s Antarctica exhibit on Monday, June 14. The installations, which range from 10′ to 14′ tall, will be on display until Saturday, June 19 at 55 West Church Street, 30 South Orange Avenue, and 60 North Orange Avenue.

Orange County Commissioners unanimously approved to provide the City of Orlando with $5 million to build a Pulse memorial, according to Orlando Business Journal. Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings — who was Orange County Sheriff at the time of the tragedy — said that he is supportive of the city's request and that a memorial is long overdue. City leaders are targeting the start of construction in June 2026, around the 10th anniversary of the shooting, with a goal to complete construction in the second half of 2027.

FloridaCommerce has announced the Orlando metro area gained the highest number of private sector jobs over the year in April 2025 among all metro areas. The region's private sector employment increased by 25,500 jobs (+1.9%) over the year in April 2025, and the labor force was up 18,539 (+1.2%). In April 2025, Orlando led all metro areas in job gains over the year in leisure and hospitality, adding 7,700 jobs; government, adding 2,800 jobs; other services, adding 2,100 jobs; and financial activities, adding 1,700 jobs.

Rollins College is underway on millions of dollars of new construction at and around its Winter Park campus, according to Orlando Business Journal. The private, nonprofit college topped off its East End Neighborhood dorm, which will feature 297 beds on the former site of the 80-bed Holt Hall. The $72 million complex began construction in 2024 and will finish in time for the fall semester.

Universal's Epic Universe is now open to the public following the theme park's official debut on Thursday, May 22. The themed areas of Epic include Super Nintendo World, Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic, How to Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk and Dark Universe, which showcases classic monsters created by Universal Studios. Universal is offering a range of new ticket options, including passholder tickets and bundled resort vacation packages.
- For the first time in nearly 10 years, Magic Kingdom guests will be able to cap off a magical day at the park with a regular nighttime parade. Starting on Saturday, June 20, "Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away" will travel through Main Street U.S.A. The all-new parade will feature classic and contemporary characters from Walt Disney Animation Studios and Disney Pixar films – some for the very first time in a Disney Live Entertainment nighttime parade.

SeaWorld Orlando has a new attraction up and running named Expedition Odyssey, a "flying theater" ride that will virtually transport visitors from Florida to the Arctic Circle. Expedition Odyssey passengers sit in double-decker rows of 15 people. Once everyone is secured, the whole seating apparatus swivels to face the big screen, which was previously unseen. The curved screen is 50 feet in diameter and creates a detailed, immersive experience.

The City of Orlando is currently accepting applications for the 2025 Mayor’s City Academy. The Mayor’s City Academy is a free, 12-week civic engagement program that offers residents an inside look at their city government. Participants will also explore a variety of volunteer opportunities where they can make a meaningful difference and learn about the many resources and programs available to city residents.

The workshop explores several different modules, including design, storytelling, social media, video, digital marketing, and web development.
