Summer 2025

Metro BREEZ Route Extends to Bath/BIW

The Metro bus stop in Bath is located between the Bath Train Station and Bath Iron Works (BIW)

Starting July 7, Greater Portland Metro will begin operating two round trips per weekday to Bath Information Center. The service coincides with BIW's shift schedule and is also open to the public. The expansion will provide a direct link between Portland, Yarmouth, Freeport, Brunswick, and now Bath!

Schedule Changes -- June/July 2025

Greater Portland Metro has made service changes to serve new areas and improve the customer experience.

  • Starting July 7, BREEZ will expand service to include two new round trips (M-F) to Bath/BIW.

  • On June 22, after many citizen requests, Metro re-introduced Route 1 service to Atlantic Street. This segment of Route 1 was removed in Fall 2023. This re-introduced service will be on a trial basis

  • Additionally, minor timetable changes on BREEZ and Routes 5 and 21 will help improve on-time performance, specifically with regard to early arrivals at timepoints.

  • The bus stop near Trader Joe's was moved app 200 ft. west toward Preble St.

  • Expanded Service -- Metro Connect on-demand service, introduced earlier this year in East Falmouth, has extended service to West Falmouth (see expanded service area below).

New expanded service to West Falmouth just added. Metro Connect has virtual stops throughout the service. We've listed a few destinations on our map; but, riders can travel on Metro Connect anywhere within the service area or connect to Metro bus stops (Routes #7 or #9A) to travel to Downtown Portland. More information available about Metro Connect in this brochure.
