She is involved in a number of diverse extracurricular activities ranging from the National Honors Society to the Best Buddies Club. She holds a variety of leadership positions including President of the Spanish National Honor Society and Vice President of NHS. Cara’s commitment extends beyond our school walls where she volunteers as an elementary school tutor and a volunteer dance teacher.

BLUE STOCKINGS - JANUARY 13-15, 2023
A moving, comical and eye-opening story of four young women fighting for education and self-determination against the larger backdrop of women's suffrage.
|
BMHS Performing arts is excited to announce our Winter Show!
BLUE STOCKINGS by Jessica Swale. Directed by Ms. Honan.
1896 Girton College, Cambridge, the first college in Britain to admit women. The Girton girls study ferociously and match their male peers grade for grade. Yet, when the men graduate, the women leave with nothing but the stigma of being a 'blue stocking' - an unnatural, educated woman. They are denied degrees and go home unqualified and unmarriageable. A moving, comical and eye-opening story of four young women fighting for education and self-determination against the larger backdrop of women's suffrage.
Auditions will be November 2nd at 2:15 in the black box. Please prepare a short monologue. Join the google classroom for more information. Code: df4i4p7
(November rehearsals will be light and work around all Into the Wood rehearsals, tech week and performances, so EVERYONE should come audition!!)
Performances will be January 13, 14 at 7pm and 15 at 2pm.

The Advanced Placement Exams are given annually in May. Click here for the College Board's 2023 AP Exam testing calendar.
If you have conflicting AP exams, please contact Mindy Cripps at mcripps@billericak12.com ASAP to discuss.
Location of exams is TBA (but will be in the BMHS building), and will be shared closer to the exam date.
Please note that AP exam testing is not optional at BMHS; if you are taking an AP course, you must take the AP exam, and the student/family is responsible for the exam fee(s).
The cost for this year's AP exams is: $97 per exam
*Students who qualify for free/reduced lunch according to federal income guidelines will have their exam subsidized by CollegeBoard and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and will pay $15 per exam. If you qualify for free/reduced lunch, follow these steps: (1) register for the exam(s), (2) choose "no payment", and (3) contact Mindy Cripps at mcripps@billericak12.com and she will verify eligibility and adjust the fee for your individual exam(s). You will then be able to go back into Community Pass and pay the reduced fee.
The deadline to register and pay for your AP exams is November 10, 2022 at 11:59PM. Payment MUST be received by November 10, 2022. If you have a concern about meeting the deadline for the AP Exam fee, please contact Mindy Cripps.
**Students may only register for AP exams which are associated with the AP courses they are currently enrolled in. If you are not enrolled in an AP class, you may not take the exam.
If you have any questions about AP exams or payment, please contact: Mindy Cripps, Director of School Counseling and the AP Coordinator at: mcripps@billericak12.com

BMHS Athletic Association
|
Families who qualify for the free and reduced-price lunch program can get $50 off their monthly broadband bills, thanks to a new, emergency federal program, the U.S. Department of Education and the Federal Communications Commission emphasized in a May 12 meeting.
Low-income families living on tribal lands are eligible for an even steeper discount, $75 a month.
What’s more, students in post-secondary education who receive Pell Grants can also tap the funding. And eligible families can receive $100 in one-time help in paying for digital devices—such as laptops, tablets, and desktop computers—as long as the family contributes between $10 and $50 for the hardware.

The BMHS App provides quick access to timely news and upcoming events. It also allows the user to determine how often and what type of notifications they receive. The first page provides 9 options (not all options are available to all users). The "News" option provides a weekly overview of coming events at BMHS. Currently, this would include all school events including clubs and the Fine Arts performances. We are working on an athletic integration as well. The "Events" option provides access to the BMHS Calendar, Fine Arts Calendar, and soon to be included Athletics Calendar. Each of these calendars is dynamic and encompasses the entire school year. The "My ID" and "Hall Pass" are only available to students and staff. The "Directory" provides access to all Staff emails and, if applicable, phone number. The "Quicklinks" option provides quick access to Aspen, Athletics, Community Pass, Guidance, Clubs, Nutrition, and the BMHS Library sign up form. "Documents" provides access to Bus Routes, Lunch Menus, COVID information, and other documents. The "Map" option provides driving directions to MVC schools and locations for school functions, e.g. Blue Ocean Event Center (location of Senior Prom). The "Language" icon allows the user to convert the app into one of 42 different languages. The phone icon on the bottom of the home page will call our Absentee Line (978-528-8710).
