What are the chances that today you will drink a beverage that's green, eat beef that's been corned, or adorn yourself with shamrocks and shades of emerald? Being that it's ST. PATRICK'S DAY...I say YES! YES you will do one of these things, if not all of them, because it is March 17th! Let's all raise a glass to Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, for making the 17th of March entirely special.

365 days ago, was not so special. 365 days ago we were kicking off a pandemic. March 16th, 2020 marked my last day working in the office and transitioning to a home work environment with 4 new co-workers, my children. I don't recall if there was corned beef and cabbage for dinner on March 17th because the world as I knew it, had ended. School had announced that they were closing, events were being cancelled, and business doors were being ordered to close. No one knew what would happen as the days and weeks ticked by. When we look back on March of 2020, there was not a lot to celebrate, even something as fun and delicious as green beer!
Fast forward, and now we find ourselves mid-March 2021 and boy do we have cause for celebration. Kids are back in school (YIPPEE), business doors are open (HECK YEAH), and I am seated at my desk with two officemates who do not require me to get them milk, make them lunch, or referee arguments regarding whose cookie is bigger (MOMENT OF SILENCE). Life. Is. Good!
So, today we have the opportunity to wear our one green sweatshirt or indulge in every shamrock shaped cookie or eat our favorite St. Patrick Day's meal. For me? I have plans to drink a mint shake today and watch my family enjoy homemade Reubens for dinner! And yes, there may or may not be pints of green ale enjoyed.
No matter your reason why, celebrate and enjoy this day! Tomorrow will be March 18th, let's plan on celebrating and enjoying that day too!
HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!!!
