Illinois to Offer Paint Recycling
The recently passed legislation will offer free paint recycling and create recycling sector jobs while reducing the financial burden on local governments of managing millions of gallons of paint waste.
“Consumers will now have the opportunity to declutter their homes of old paint and feel confident that their waste is being recycled and disposed of in an environmentally sustainable way,” says bill sponsor, Illinois State Senator Linda Holmes.
The program is expected to go into effect in 2025.
