AME Climate Resolution
In July, the African Methodist Episcopal Church, a founding partner of Blessed Tomorrow, passed an historic resolution to support climate policies that will protect families and children, create healthy and safe communities, and build a clean energy future.

The AME Church launched their resolution on their home page rotation and with its own special page featuring a guide and resources to help their 7,000 congregations and 2.5 million members reduce damage to the climate and inspire others to lead on climate solutions in their homes, congregations, and communities. Blessed Tomorrow will continue to support AMEC's leadership with additional resources for engagement and action.

Diversity and Inclusion for our National Parks
National Religions Partnership for the Environment is asking the President to issue a Centennial Pledge in honor of the 100th anniversary of our National Parks that would ensure that our public lands are accessible to all people and tell all our stories. Would you be willing to sign this petition to President Obama?

Climate Change and Voting
This election will be critical in determining how our country responds to the climate crisis and if we follow through on the commitments we made to the rest of the world in Paris. As people of faith, we believe that responding to the urgent threat of climate change is essential to caring for God's creation and loving our neighbors. Human activity, primarily the burning of fossil fuels for energy, has thrown nature out of balance, polluted the air, raised sea levels, made thousands of God's creatures extinct, and threatens the lives and livelihoods of our most vulnerable brothers and sisters. In short, we have become destroyers, not sustainers of, life.

Some political leaders ignore or deny the overwhelming scientific evidence that human behavior is exacerbating global warming. The climate change crisis most impacts those who contribute the least to the problem: the poor and vulnerable. The United States, a wealthy nation with vast resources, has a unique responsibility to show moral and political leadership by:

Transitioning from dependency on fossil fuels toward a clean energy economy.

Honoring the emissions-reduction commitments our nation made at the UN Conference on Climate Change in Paris in 2015, and taking additional actions needed to avert catastrophic global warming. Assisting developing nations - who are least responsible for climate change but most impacted by it - in coping with threats such as increased droughts, floods and sea-level rise by sharing clean energy technology and other supports.

Is Buying Organic Really Worth It?
Buying organic food typically involves shelling out a premium. But is the extra pinch to the pocket actually worth it?

Recently, A Department of Agriculture report revealed just how much it really costs to shop organic.

Organic eggs. milk, and salad greens can cost upwards of 60 percent more than conventional alternatives, while items like apples, carrots, granola, and spinach, carry premiums of between 7 and 30 percent, the study said.

Food for Thought

First thing in the morning, before you meet or greet anyone, remember to greet all of nature, all visible and invisible creatures. Say to them: "I am grateful for your work, I love you and want to be in harmony with you!" At this very moment, in response to your greeting, all of nature will open to you and send you energy for the entire day.
