GRESB Annual Report

Green Cities Funds once again performed at the top of the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB’s) annual survey. Green Cities II earned a 5-star rating, the highest designation, and placed first among its peer group of 27 multifamily residential U.S. value-add funds. Green Cities III placed second overall in the diversified, office/residential U.S. value-add category.

GRESB is an investor-led organization providing standardized and validated Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) data to the capital markets. Each year, GRESB assesses and benchmarks the ESG performance of real assets worldwide.

2021 GRESB Highlights

Green Cities Fund II earned a 5-star rating from GRESB for the 2021 reporting year. A 5-star rating is the highest designation and is awarded to entities which perform in the top 20% of the benchmark.

Green Cities Fund II earned the highest GRESB score among a peer group of 43 non-listed, value-add, residential funds globally. Green Cities Fund II also earned the highest Performance Score within the Residential/ Americas category out of 74 funds.

These rankings, based on 2020 performance, reflect the firm’s commitment to institutional rigor in ESG investing as well as robust stakeholder engagement and excellence in building operations.

Green Cites’ 2020 Environmental and Community Impact Report is a great resource for additional detail on the environmental and social strategies embedded in each fund in our portfolio. The report is grounded in our Green Cities Index which quantifies over 100 measurable outcomes reported by asset, by fund and for the portfolio under the firm’s five ESG pillars: Environmental Impact, Climate Change Mitigation, Resilience, Health and Wellbeing and Equitable Communities.
