Friends,

I hope this message finds you well and thriving. Since joining Mandelbaum Barrett PC in October as the Chair of its Cannabis, Hemp & Psychedelics Practice Group, the journey has been nothing short of exhilarating. It's been a period of significant growth, learning, and impactful work, both for our team and the broader cannabis and psychedelics communities.

I am very pleased to announce that Natalie Diaz is joining our firm as an associate in the Cannabis, Hemp & Psychedelic Practice Group. Natalie brings a wealth of experience in navigating the complexities of the cannabis industry including regulatory compliance, license acquisition, commercial real estate, and various corporate and business transactions. Notably, Natalie has demonstrated her commitment by successfully preparing over 100 cannabis license applications in New York and New Jersey.

As we gear up for another enlightening Flower Hour and the much-anticipated HIGH+CUISINE: CANNACURIOUS SUPPER CLUB (don't forget to check the bottom of this email for a special discount code!), I wanted to take a moment to reflect on our recent achievements and the exciting path that lies ahead.

Our mission has been clear: to navigate the complex regulatory, corporate, and transactional challenges that our clients face in the cannabis and psychedelics sectors. We've made significant headway, thanks in part to Mandelbaum Barrett's robust support in these areas, allowing us to cultivate a practice that truly makes an impact.

This year, we've made significant strides in shaping the dialogue around cannabis law. I recently was quoted in an NJ Monitor article, on a new bill that would force drivers to provide a blood sample to determine impairment from narcotics notwithstanding the fact that numerous studies have concluded that concentrations of THC in blood do not establish impairment. Our insights also were spotlighted in Law360, focusing on a pivotal case about off-duty police officers' recreational marijuana use. These features underscore our deep engagement with the evolving legal challenges in the cannabis sector and our communities.

Recognition as one of the Top 200 Global Psychedelics Lawyers was a humbling nod to our efforts, further fueling our drive to lead with innovation and active engagement. Our thought leadership on Cannabis DUI challenges arising from the pivotal New Jersey v. Olenowski decision issued by the New Jersey Supreme Court, particularly concerning the negative impacts on minority communities, marks a significant step forward in our legal practice.

Beyond the courtroom and legislative chambers, we've extended our reach into the community, fostering dialogue and education through our YouTube series on cannabis legalization, and engaging with the community at events at the THC Museum and through our membership in the HEMP Beverage Alliance and NORML, and presenting at CLE’s hosted by the New York and New Jersey State Bar Associations, among others.

As we look to the future, I'm excited about the opportunities that lie ahead for us to continue pushing boundaries, advocating for change, and supporting our clients and community in navigating the complex cannabis and psychedelics landscapes. Your ongoing support and engagement mean the world to us, and I look forward to sharing more achievements and insights as we grow together.

Remember to join us at our upcoming HIGH+CUISINE: CANNACURIOUS SUPPER CLUB event for a time of connection, education, and, of course, some good vibes on March 6, and at the next Flower Hour on March 20, both at Bixi.
