The Green House Project Contributes To New Recommendations for Family Presence During a Pandemic
New recommendations for family presence in hospitals, long-term care communities, and other care settings during the COVID-19 outbreak were released last week by a "pop-up" coalition of organizations.

The Green House Project was one of more than 60 groups that participated in the coalition” that developed the guidelines for a compassionate approach to family presence that balances the benefits of family’s physical presence with a loved one and the need to minimize the risks of transmission of COVID-19.

These recommendations are now widely available to provide guidance to healthcare leaders and local and regional authorities on what constitutes responsible, compassionate family presence during, and in the aftermath of, a pandemic.

The recommendations emphasize the importance of considering not only the risk that family presence may pose to the staff, patients, residents and loved ones, but also the risk that restrictions may create for the physical, emotional, and psychological health of these same individuals.
Donate to The Green House Project
As we continue to grapple with the devastation of COVID-19 across the world and within the United States, we at The Green House Project are emboldened to fight harder than ever to develop elder care communities that create real homes, meaningful lives, and empowered staff.

As a 501(c)(3) organization, we rely on grant support, consulting funds, and other means to fight for elder care that is radically non-institutional, person-directed, and relationship rich.

With this in mind, we ask that you consider supporting us via the link below, which allows you to either give once or set up a monthly gift that will help us continue offering COVID-19 webinars, sharing stories of heroism, and building nursing homes that are equipped to not only manage COVID-19 and other viruses, but also to ensure the dignified quality of life experiences that Green House offers.
