Greetings!

Here's a snapshot of a number of events in September that you may be interested in.

These include the annual Leaders in Energy (LE) Green Jobs Forum, an in-person Happy Hour in northern Virginia with the National Capital Area Chapter of the US Association for Energy Economics (NCAC-USAEE) and an opportunity for early stage companies to exhibit at the Clean Energy Business Network Energy Innovation Showcase.

Our urgent need to become a more sustainable and equitable world, and to stop and reverse climate and biodiversity impacts, is clear. It is also creating widespread new opportunities for people of all ages, skills, and interests to come into green jobs and businesses.  If you are interested in learning more about how you can make a difference by working in a green job, we invite you to attend our upcoming Leaders in Energy (LE) annual Green Jobs Forum. It's coming up soon - on Thursday, September 22, 2022 from 3:30 to 7:00 pm EDT. The event will be virtual and there will be a recording if you can't attend live. You can register below.

This year's Green Job's Forum features three panels. Each is an hour-long including Q&A.

• The first panel is "Green Job Opportunities" which will highlight myriad current openings and green business development resources.
• The second is "Educational Pathways" which will cover familiar and newer ways to gain the skills and knowledge that employers need.
• The third is "Landing the Job" where you'll discover the paths others have taken successfully.

The event concludes with an optional networking session to meet fellow attendees!

You'll hear from a constellation of knowledgeable speakers coming from government, business, and education, plus individuals who landed a green job or created their own green business. Learn more about our speakers here.

If you live in the Washington DC Metro area, join us for a Happy Hour with LE and the National Capital Area Chapter of the United States Association for Energy Economics (NCAC-USAEE).

The event is free to attend with appetizers provided by NCAC. It will take place at the Continental Pool Lounge & Beer Garden in Arlington, VA on Friday, September 30th from 6-9 PM. 

The venue is conveniently located just a block away from Rosslyn Metro Station.

The Clean Energy Business Network (CEBN) is conducting its second annual Energy Innovation Showcase on September 26. CEBN wants to invite companies working in the Leaders in Energy community to apply to exhibit. They are looking for a diverse set of early-stage companies seeking investment for clean energy technologies. The Showcase will be held on Monday, September 26th, 2022, 2:30-4:30 EDT.

This is a free opportunity for startups to:

• Highlight their work on a national platform
• Present a pitch before policymaker, investor, and public audiences
• Engage with potential partners or support organizations
