To consider a year-end donation to the GMR

designated 2022 charities

Green Mountain Region Designated 2022 Charities

If you are still considering your year-end charitable donations please consider a donation to one or both of the charities we at Green Mountain Region Porsche Club are supporting this year.

In 2020 and 2021 the beneficiary of our efforts was the Vermont Foodbank which received over $12,600 through GMR member donations coupled with GMR and PCA matching donations of $4,000 and $1,500 respectively.

For 2022, the Board has once again designated the Vermont Foodbank and in addition, the Vermont Automobile Enthusiasts’ (VAE) Golden Wrench Scholarship fund. As in prior years GMR will match total member donations up to $1,000 for each organization.

A donation to the Vermont Foodbank is a great way to help fellow Vermonters who may need support during challenging times while the VAE Scholarship program, a certified Vermont non-profit, is an excellent incentive for students to enter the automotive services industry. The Board encourages you to consider these two state-wide organizations for donations in 2022.

Vermont Foodbank

The mission of the Vermont Foodbank is to gather and share quality food and nurture partnerships so that no one in Vermont will go hungry. It is the state’s largest hunger-relief organization, providing nutritious food through a network of more than 300 community partners – food shelves, meal sites, senior centers, after-school programs, schools and hospitals. The Foodbank provides about 12 million pounds of food annually to people throughout Vermont.

To make a donation please go to the Vermont Food Bank website at https://fundraise.vtfoodbank.org/GMRPCA_2022. The process is secure, fast and easy.

Vermont Automobile Enthusiasts’ Golden Wrench Scholarship.

Since 2010 the VAE has honored junior high school students in automotive technology programs for their hard work, dedication and knowledge in the field by awarding Golden Wrench Scholarships. The scholarships include a set Mac Tools valued around $600 along with other auto related materials.

To make a donation to the Golden Wrench please mail your check payable to the Vermont Automobile Enthusiasts at the below address. Please indicate that you are with GMR.

If you have already completed the survey - thank you very much. If you haven’t yet had a chance to do so please take a moment to do so by visiting the survey website at https://forms.gle/TMemkJMXAjtsTaVA6. It should take no more than 3-5 minutes to complete the questionnaire.

The following members have joined Green Mountain Region PCA recently.

Edward Brennan, Panton, 1990 911 Carrera 4

Name Tags: We recommend that new members and their spouses or partners purchase "official" Green Mountain Club name tags for use at all GMR events. Please email gmrpca@gmail.com to request them for you and your spouse or partner, and our treasurer, Christina McCaffrey, will try to get them for you in time for the next event. The cost is $20.00 per name tag.

Want your spouse or partner to get these
Green Mountain PCA Newsletters?

When you joined PCA (recently or forever ago) you no doubt listed your partner or spouse as a co-member. Many co-members however have not provided their email addresses. If your spouse/partner would like to receive the Mountaineer as well as yourself, have them call PCA HQ at (410) 381-0911‬ and give PCA the information. It only takes a few minutes as PCA is very efficient. That way you both will receive The Mountaineer and other pertinent club emails.

If your co-member remembers his or her co-member login (it is separate from the main member) you can do it that way too-- but calling is probably the quickest.
Member Feature:
Send us your photos!

We have started a feature highlighting a different member in the GMR Mountaineer with his or her Porsche. If you would like to be featured in future newsletter please submit some photos of you and your car along with a paragraph or two explaining why you joined the GMR, your favorite drives or whatever!

Please reply to this email with your photo and information.
