2021 has come and gone and will be remembered for its early beginnings, bountiful golf and magnificent fall weather. In Like a Lion! Compared to recent years, we too have endured an exceptionally cold month of January. Fortunately, we have also been provided with a great blanket of snow to protect the turf.

We are in the middle of a very typical Manitoba winter here with lots of snow and very cold temperatures. After a few mild, dry winters and drought conditions in the summer it is nice to see some snowfall to recharge the river and lake systems that so many courses rely on for water. There were some initial ice concerns at a few courses in the Winnipeg area but hopefully those don’t cause too much of an issue and the abundant snowfall continues to provide insulation from the very cold temperatures.
