After the extremely wet and rainy summer season in the Atlantic provinces many superintendents couldn’t wait for the snow to fly. That being said, the fall weather was relatively favourable and fall projects were in full swing. As you can imagine, drainage was a priority on a lot of peoples lists. Most areas didn’t, and as of the first of January, still haven’t received any amount of permanent snow cover. This allowed those fall projects to continue well into December. |

I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a great 2024. I wish you an exceptional golf course, a full team and an ample budget. We are now finally in the time of year where we can relax and enjoy ourselves with those close to us. Take advantage of this and stay healthy.
The month of December began with 30 cm of snow, we assumed that it was the start of winter. However, mother nature had other ideas. The 2023 year ended with a green golf course.

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a great holiday season with family and friends.
Old man winter finally showed up this week in central Saskatchewan with 4-6 inches of snow, blowing winds and much colder temperatures. This fall, early winter has been unique for the province with very little to no snow and mild temperatures depending on locations. Some areas are concerned about potential ice issues this winter and all areas are happy with the snow before the temperatures plummet.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Industry Affiliate Member Cal Surgenor. Cal was a huge supporter of CGSA and friend to many in the industry representing Canada through Bayco Golf for many years.
We extend sincere condolences to Cal’s family and friends during this most difficult time.
