First off I would like to thank all of the CGSA Staff and the Conference Committee for putting together a great event in Vancouver. It was exciting to get back to gathering in person and the education sessions, social events and trade show were all second to none. Thank you as well to all the sponsors and industry partners for their support of the event and of our profession. Looking forward to Montreal in 2024!
Back in Manitoba it is still snowy and cold although the sun is getting stronger and I am sure some melting will start in the next couple of weeks.

Winter has finally set in across all of the Atlantic Provinces. Much like a lot of the country, it was late coming and temperatures have been fluctuating more than normal.
A lot of my region was still bare into mid to late January and some areas even later. That has resulted in not as many Superintendents concerned about ice as they have been the past few winters. Many clubs were still working on projects late into the year because of the lack of snow cover.

In the Belle Province, especially the greater region of Montreal, winter has been warmer than normal. Despite having almost all the snow melt during the Christmas holidays, we now have more than two feet of snow covering the ground.
Spring is fast approaching and several golf courses will be starting to remove snow off the greens in hopes of removing tarps by the end of the month.

The Canadian Golf Course Superintendents Conference was held at the end of February in Vancouver. It was refreshing to finally see industry colleagues in person again. We had a good number of Saskatchewan attendees; educational speakers, the trade show and mingling were enjoyed by all.
January in Saskatchewan was mild and calm. Mild temperatures brought many days of hoar frost. The snow we received in December stayed to provide courses with the snow cover needed to get through the last stretch of winter. February started out with unseasonable low temps and finished off with a bang of cold.

The Canadian in Vancouver last week was a huge success. CGSA would like to thank all delegates, exibitors, online auction donors and bidders, sponsors and speakers for helping to make this conference possible.
Delegate and Exhibitor evalution surveys will be sent in the next few days. Please take a few minutes to provide your feedback to help us prepare for the 2024 Canadian in Montreal, Quebec. Watch for details coming soon.

CGSA’s Standing Committees are the lifeblood of our organization. The input of our members in a number of critical areas of the CGSA mandate helps to shape the very programs and services that the CGSA provides on a daily basis and provides an exciting opportunity to meet people from across the country and get first hand, and in many cases, advanced knowledge of the issues and situations affecting golf course management in Canada.
