Seeing the future

Every once in a while, I see the future, and let me reassure those who worry about what lies ahead -- things are looking pretty good!
Why? I've recently discovered that our green school nurturing has had a real, immediate impact, and could we ask for a better sign of a brighter future?
This month, I'm proud to introduce you to green leaders of tomorrow who are making a difference today.

We've got a few new friends...
One of the country's greenest school districts will be our local partner for the upcoming Green Schools National Conference.
Not only will we be in their backyard, we'll also be benefiting from working with this wonderful group, whose work led to Virginia Beach City Public Schools being named "Best School Distrct" in the the U.S. Green Building Council's Center for Green Schools' annual "Best of Green Schools" list.

GSNN Board Spotlight: Al Stenstrup

Our board president, Al Stenstrup, recently retired from his role as the Director of Education Programs for the American Forest Foundation and Project Learning Tree.  He has worked in education for nearly 40 years - including teaching at both the middle school and university level, directing a nature center, and now serves as the director of a national environmental education program. Al has been an advocate for green schools at the state, national and global levels.

GSNN Partner Spotlight: National Wildlife Federation

We've enjoyed a wonderful partnership with the NWF, an organization that is a true voice for wildlife, dedicated to protecting wildlife and habitat and inspiring the future generation of conservationists.
We encourage you to learn more about the NWF and its programs, which have had a positive impact on our natural environment for almost 80 years.

PS -- Since the holiday season is about to get into full swing, check out wonderful gifts from the NWF online Gift Shop. Fabulous finds - and your purchases benefit a great cause!
Trevor's on his way!
We recently bumped into an interesting chap and he has an amazing story to tell.

His name is Trevor, and he hopes to raise awareness of what youngsters like him can do to save the planet. You'll soon be able to read all about Trevor in a new book, Trevor's Travels Eco Adventures: The Ocean Calls, which creates eco-awareness in kids through a fun adventure story.

Learn more about Trevor's Eco Adventure Foundation -- as well as the Kickstarter campaign launched this month to support this worthwhile program!
