Golf Shoot-Out at Link Hills Country Club
The deadline for tournament registration is Monday, September 13. Space for the tournament is limited, available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Please choose one of the following (either the team or individual categories) below:
Sponsor: $775 - Hole sponsor with corporate-sponsored team consisting of four players. Registration fee includes lunch, greens fee, golf cart, beverages & snacks during play, contest package*, and special event golf item.
Team: $600 - Corporate-sponsored team consisting of four players. Registration fee includes lunch, greens fee, golf cart, beverages & snacks during play, contest package*, and special event golf item.
Individual: $150 - Will be teamed with other individual entries. Registration fee includes lunch, greens fee, golf cart, beverages & snacks during play, contest package*, and special event golf item.
Contest Sponsor: $250 - Recognition on course, in all materials, website, social media campaign, Friday Forward & Newsletter communications.

Wings & Wheels on the GreenE is set to take place on Saturday, October 2 at the Greeneville Municipal Airport. The fly-in/cruise-in will feature not only visitors flying in from around the southeast, but will also feature a cruise in with cars of all makes and models. Enjoy food trucks, skydiving and more. This year's event is sponsored by Brolin & Bailey Co.

Helen Horner
October 30, 1928 - August 22, 2021
The Greene County Partnership sends our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Helen Horner, who's impact on Greeneville/Greene County is indescribable.
Helen was the first female board member and president of the Greene County Partnership. She served as the Director of Tourism for the Partnership from 1985 until 1999.
Helen also served on the board of the Historic Zoning Commission, was a commissioner on the Kinser Park Commission and served on the boards of numerous civic and historical organizations.

Wilbur West
January 8, 1944 - August 24, 2021
The Greene County Partnership sends our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Wilbur West. Wilbur was the ultimate ambassador for our community. He volunteered three days a week at the City Garage Car Museum following his retirement in 2011. He served as a greeter, guide, loyal volunteer and a “Special Friend to Many” at the museum.
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where he served as head usher, co-chair of the Serve Team, and teacher for the Seekers Sunday School Class. He enjoyed hosting his friends at Greeneville’s minor league baseball games and at Tusculum University basketball and football games.
Such adjectives as kind, gentle, caring, comforting, listening, and helping were often used to describe him throughout his life.

The Agribusiness Committee is preparing for the Kids’ Day on the Farm, Thursday, September 30 at the Northeast Tennessee Research and Education Center. The event is being held to show the importance of farming here in Greeneville and Greene County.

REAP (Rural Energy for America Program) provides guaranteed loan financing and grant funding to agricultural producers and rural small businesses to purchase or install renewable energy systems or make energy efficiency improvements. Value Added Producer Grant Program helps agricultural producers enter into value-added activities related to the processing and/or marketing of bio-based, value-added products. Generating new products, creating and expanding marketing opportunities, and increasing producer income are the goals of this program. Keep Greene Beautiful Golf Tournament
Team Shelton won the Iron Eyes Cody Traveling Trophy at the Keep Greene Beautiful Golf Tournament on August 12. Members of the team were Justin Burns, Eric Idell, Luke Shelton and Timmy Thompson. Runners-up were members of Parker Hannifin: David Glasscock, Andy Fannon, Mike Neas and Jon Wilder.

Yard of the Month
Congratulations to July Yard of the Month Winner Dollie Montgomery (Martingale Dr.) Dollie received a $50 gift card from Broyles General Store.
During the Yard of the Month program no yard will be allowed to receive more than one award within the calendar year. The residential property of all current Greene County residents are eligible to participate. Yard upkeep may be done by the homeowner or a professional landscaper. Yard of the Month winner will be asked to display their award sign and are expected to maintain their yard in the same manner that allowed them to win their title of “Yard of the Month.”
August is the last month of the year for nominations. Yard of the Month will be judged by volunteers of Keep Greene Beautiful. You can find all of the information about this program and the judging criteria online at www.keepgreenebeautiful.com .

Greene County Tennessee Becomes Certified Work Ready Community
We're pleased to announce that Greene County is a certified Work Ready Community. By participating in the ACT Work Ready Communities initiative, our county will be able to identify skill gaps and quantify the skill level of our workforce. This helps educators build career pathways aligned to the needs of business and industry. Greene County currently has 63 employers who recognize or recommend ACT WorkKeys certification.

YOUTH BUILDERS PLAN FOR 75TH ANNIVERSARY!
Youth Builders is announcing plans for their 75th Anniversary Celebration.
The event will be held Saturday, September 25 from 2:00-4:00 pm, at “The Rock” on the campus of Holston United Methodist Home for Children.
All past presidents and past members are encouraged to attend and will be recognized. A display of scrapbooks and special event memorabilia will be on display, and the event will be highlighted by the release of the first copies of the “Youth Builders 75 Year History.” The book relates heartfelt reflections from hundreds of members who dedicated their volunteerism to our community. Stories travel in time back to 1946 recounting not only what they did but how they did it, and most importantly how new generations of Youth Builders are still impacting our community’s quality of life.
Through the years, Youth Builders has annually volunteered and offered monetary support to numerous community agencies, with emphasis on youth, including the Boys and Girls Club; Greeneville/Greene County History Museum; Holston Home; the kidPrintID program; Greeneville /Greene County Library; various pre-school projects including Head Start, Child Health and Development, and Helping Us Grow programs; a 911 training program for students; scholarships for deserving high school students; Gifts for Kids; Junior Achievement, co-sponsorship of the Volunteer Spirit Awards program, etc.
