We don't know about you, but November has always felt like a lot happening with two days of no school, two more days off for Thanksgiving, four half days, and Daylight Saving Time ending next weekend. So go ahead, take that parent tax from your kids' candy collection tomorrow and ease yourself into this very busy month.

Annual Lower School Character Parade!

Monday, October 31

9 - 9:30AM

Interested K-4th grade students can come to school in costume and bring a uniform to change into after the parade. Students in costume will walk a route outside around the school by class. Afterwards, they must change out of their costumes so please bring a change of uniform clothes.

Parents are invited to attend and take pictures. The parade route (see map below! we start/finish at the pumpkins) will take the students down the middle of the school yard, onto Sansom walking towards 22nd street, and then back onto the school yard. Parents are encouraged to spread out along the parade route.

Costumes should not promote violence or include blood. No weapons, cultural appropriation, or inappropriate language.

This parade goes quickly, we start with the Kindergarteners first. Be sure to come on time for your student!

Middle School Drama Auditions

All roles will be filled on a first come-first served basis. After auditions, all roles will be selected and we will send out an email over that weekend for parents and cast members to accept their role.

Waters and juice boxes will also be available for sale. Come support the 8th Grade as they fundraise for their class activities.

P-EBT (Pandemic Food Benefits) have been extended!

All School District of Philadelphia students are eligible for benefits regardless of income.

$391 has been deposited in all P-EBT accounts.

Calling All Middle School Singers! 

This is an opportunity for middle school students who wish to join a short-term choir to sing Christmas music. The choir is run by Dr. Dilworth, one of music ed/choral's top-notch composers and choral educator and conductor!

Thank you to Cathryn Anderson of the Philadelphia School District who presented the new math curriculum at last week's Wind Down Wednesday. In case you missed it, there is a link below to a recording of the presentation and math resources for parents.

Join us for our next Wind Down Wednesday on November 16 when Dr. Lazar will present Greenfield's math performance data and new initiatives aiming to promote positive math identities.

UPenn's Youth Baseball Winter Camp registration and sign up is now open! They're offering Greenfield students a special discount, please use code 14573.

There is an additional $40 taken off when students register for the whole day. The total cost will be $150 for a morning and afternoon session, not $175 as advertised at the bottom of the winter camp webpage.

This is a great opportunity for your students to learn the game in a fun, teaching environment!

We’ll also be improving the ground cover in Ms Somers’ yard and would love volunteers for that effort. Great workout opportunity 🤣 and all hands/helpers appreciated.
