Downtown Paid Parking Test-


Please be advised the village together with the BID (Business Improvement District) is launching a TEST of paid parking on Front and Main streets over the next 45 days. Please be aware this is only a test and motorists will NOT be cited if they do not pay during this time period.


This effort is being done as part of what will be a larger study on parking and traffic management in the village.


Experience the Mini-Railroad and Take a Ride Through Moores Woods


Greenport is committed to fostering a vibrant environment for our young residents and visitors. Along with the Carousel in Mitchell Park and the Skatepark on Moore's Lane, we are thrilled to introduce the long-awaited Greenport Mini Express Train. Hop on for a delightful journey through Moores Woods! Located next to the Skatepark, this long-awaited attraction is OPEN Friday - Sunday from 11 -3 through October. (tickets $5). Don't miss out on this exciting new adventure for kids in Greenport!

Ice Skating Rink - The Village of Greenport has received a $1.2 million grant from NY State to support the construction of a new outdoor ice skating rink in Mitchell Park.

New Noise Code - Leaf-blowers:

Please be advised that gas powered leaf blowers are NOT permitted from May 15 - Oct. 14, 2024. They will be permitted from Oct. 15 - Dec. 15 for fall clean-up


Dec. 16, 2024: "Gas Powered" Leaf blowers are NOT permitted year-round per newly adopted Chapter 88 Noise Code.


Brush Pick-Up:


Starting on September 1, residents will be required to put all leaf and grass clippings into recyclable paper bags for pick-up. This will help with work flow and storm drain maintenance while lessening damage to streets and curbs.
