Climate Future Workshop:

A Civic Engagement Experience for Youth

Green Change and CCL Marin invite high school students from Marin County to participate in a Climate Future Workshop, a climate advocacy program for youth at Earth Day Marin.

This civic engagement experience will include preparation with climate advocacy training and a policy workshop, culminating in a meeting with an elected official on Sunday, April 23 at the Mill Valley Community Center. Elected representatives from Federal, State, County, and local levels have been invited to participate. Students will learn how to personally and constructively engage with their elected representatives in anticipation of soon becoming actual voters.

Students can register by submitting this sign up form.

World Trade Organization chief warns: World needs global carbon price and tax reform for carbon-heavy trade – or will miss 2030 climate goals

Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, director-general of the World Trade Organization, told the World Economic Forum in Davos that decarbonizing global trade and supply chains must occur in a way that does not disadvantage the Global South.

(Sounds like a carbon price with carbon border adjustment mechanism: CBAM.)

CBAM? What's that?

How else can the global economy harmonize carbon pricing?

You're about to hear a lot more about CBAM's, so watch Niskanen Center's climate policy manager Shuting Pomerleau discuss Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanisms with over 500 audience members at CCL's December's conference. Hear about the goals, importance, and policy design considerations of carbon border adjustments. Wonky, yes, but ready or not, here it comes.

DO NOT MISS THIS SERIES!

Doubt, Denial and Delay -- that was yesterday. Now it's Deception, Distraction, Disinformation and Doomism. Don't buy it. For more, watch Dr. Michael Mann's talk at Book Passage on The New Climate War.

You're invited, but...

This is how one behaves inside The Capitol:

Make an appointment. Business attire recommended. Bring nothing that even looks like a weapon.
