Opportunity from the Parks Department
Application Deadline February 17
Partnerships is offering a program this Spring called the
Community Visioning Cohort
. The cohort is a group of park stewards trained to engage local residents in efforts to advocate for park renovations, or to design park events and programming.
Selected groups will participate in a series of trainings from March through May. The trainings will prepare groups to host a community visioning event in their park to gather feedback from neighborhood residents and other stakeholders. Groups who complete the training will be eligible to apply for tailored support and a small stipend to help them implement their community visioning strategy in the summer of 2019.
Groups participating in the Community Visioning Cohort will design either a physical improvement strategy to advocate for site renovations, or a programming strategy. Physical improvement focused groups will be expected to produce a final visioning report to present to NYC Parks, their community board, and their NYC Council Member during advocacy meetings.
The application for this program is due on February 17th!
