THIS WEEK'S TALK BY

REV. DENISE YEARGIN

"The Power of Zestful Living"

Exploring the power that comes in living our lives wholeheartedly with energy, enthusiasm and passion. - Rev. Denise Yeargin

Rev. Denise Yeargin is a retired Ordained Unity Minister who continues to minister through speaking and writing and occasional individual virtual sessions. "Rev. D" (as many still call her) has grown to love Center for Spiritual Living Nashville and often tunes in to our Sunday services online.

A Native Nashvillian, Denise has over the last few years co-created a home with her life partner Judy Blackwelder in Savannah, TN on the Tennessee River. They call their estate Harmony Haven – as they are learning to live in communion with the earth and all her relations. Denise’s greatest love continues to be studying, teaching, and sharing Universal Principle.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

CSL Sarasota and CSL Asheville Hurricane Relief

Our amazing Community has raised $2,000 for CSL Sarasota and CSL Asheville Hurricane Relief.

We will be sending $1,000 to each Center to assist them in their cleanup and healing efforts!

Please continue to keep both communities in your prayers!

Welcome Back Caring Hearts! Volunteers Needed!

Being in community means that we are there for each other during times of challenge and times of celebration. The Caring Hearts Team reaches out to help when members of our community have a health challenge, surgery or hospitalization or when they are celebrating something wonderful. Thank you to Erica Leeds for volunteering to lead the Caring Hearts Team! Please contact Erica at ericalleeds@gmail.com to volunteer to help with this wonderful outreach.

The Drive is On! Last Sunday to Donate is Oct 27!

A couple of weeks ago, we asked for volunteers to help organize a giving drive to help Aristevi, an organization that helps women who are survivors of human trafficking. The organization, which is affiliated with St. John’s Greek Orthodox Church, the church that bought CSLN’s property, helps to educate, clothe and house the women as they begin their new lives.

We are starting our drive by collecting women’s lightly used clothes from casual to job interview attire, jewelry, shoes, bras (no used underwear). They have a large warehouse and the woman can "shop in their store".

We ask you to bring the clothes ON SUNDAY before or after our service, in a box if possible, so we can SEE what is donated. Unity Church graciously provided a room to store the clothes. No need to bring hangers. When you walk into church go to the left hallway. Questions? Call Becky Meagher 615-975-7000

Hiring a Bookkeeper

We are accepting applications for the bookkeeper position. The position is part-time and is approximately 25 hours per month at $20 per hour. Interested applicants require bookkeeping experience, including working with Quickbooks, and the willingness to learn ADP and other financial applications. Attendance at the Center, before and after the Sunday service, is required. Additional work can be done remotely. Please submit your resume to admin@cslnashville.org.

We are also hiring a part-time Executive Director!

Please email admin@cslnashville.org to get a copy of the job responsibilities and submit your resume.

Hospitality Volunteers Needed

We are looking for volunteers to help with hospitality on the 4th Sunday of every month. We are also looking for a hospitality coordinator. Please contact Marylla Rosebaugh if you are interested.

Online Service Chat Box Volunteers Needed

CSLN is looking for a few volunteers from our online community to moderate the YouTube chat box on Sunday mornings. This is a great opportunity for our members who prefer watching our service online to get involved and help our online viewers connect. You'll be provided some tools to get you started and can volunteer for as many Sundays per month as you like. Contact Rekell at admin@cslnashville.org if you are interested.

Participate in Spirituality and Technology Research

One of our members and Practitioners, Tonya Miller-Hire, is working on her PhD and the topic of her thesis is how technology is influencing spirituality. We can all help Tonya with her research by participating in an online survey. This will take approximately 35 minutes, can be stopped at anytime and can be anonymous. If you are interested in taking the survey, the link is below:

Turkey and dressing will be provided with the rest of the fixings as a potluck. CLASSES & WORKSHOPS

Creating our Beloved Community!

Join Rev Cath DePalma via Zoom as we read and discuss Jim Lockard’s visionary book: Creating the Beloved Community: A Handbook for Spiritual Leadership.

Creating The Beloved Community is about the qualities, attitudes, and practices that are needed to manifest the kind of world envisioned by Howard Thurman and Dr. Martin Luther King. Jr., a world of peace and harmony. The book speaks of the leadership qualities needed to create such a beloved community, including cultural evolutionary awareness, presencing, and psychological awareness of our own and others' development. Join Rev Cath as we begin conversations about creating a Beloved Community!

SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT

 Dale Rogers, RScP

I know that there is one presence, one total awareness in which everything exists and has its being. I call that presence God, Source, Infinite Consciousness, Being. I know that Source is all there is.

A whole cannot be divided and still be a whole. That presence is fundamental. It “is.” And because I know this, I know that my awareness, this thing I call “me” is part of that undivided being. There is no separation. I am it, but not all of it. I am part of the body of God. I know that every atom, every positive, negative, and neutral charge in me is part of that intelligent energy that makes all things.

I give thanks. Thank you for this gift of awareness. I know that because I am part of the body and presence of God, my awareness of my thoughts, feelings, and body are all an expression of God’s love and desire to create and experience. I choose to align my thoughts and feelings with that realization. I am thinking only “good.” I am feeling only “good” for myself, and all of God’s creations. I am aligned only with “good.” That “good” is love.

I know that my thoughts and feelings are being acted upon. The energy is in motion, now. I release this knowing into the law of mind knowing that it or something so much better, is already done.

And so it is.
