Inspiring the Next Generation of Manufacturers
Manufacturing Day 2019

We're opening our doors to schools and students for Manufacturing Day 2019 on  Tuesday, October 22 from 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM !

California Manufacturing Network (CMTC)  will be hosting Manufacturing Day 2019 at Prototype & Short-Run Services, Inc. and  American Wire EDM with special guest  Schmidt Technology !
MFG Day is intended to foster the discussion of various issues within the manufacturing community, including skilled labor shortages, the public image of manufacturing and the future of the industry.

Our hope is that the tour will open student's minds to a career in manufacturing. We’ll answer questions through live demos, Q&A sessions with our experienced engineers, tool and die makers and a few key speakers.

AI Supercomputer Paves the Way for
Longer-lasting Tools
Article Featured on www.thomasnet.com
Using machine-learning algorithms, Swedish researchers have calculated the forces between atoms in titanium-aluminum nitride, a ceramic material that makes the cutting edges on metal tools used in manufacturing harder and more durable.

The research, made possible through the use of a supercomputer, will eventually enable the creation of a thin film coating that gives a harder, longer-lasting edge to cutting tools.
We're here to help you with your next project. If there are ideas, topics, trends, information etc. you'd like us to cover in these newsletters, let us know - we want to hear from you. Stay tuned for our October newsletter.
