We would like to thank Costco, its hardworking employees, and generous members for an extraordinarily successful campaign in support of the Children’s Fund at Valley Children’s Hospital, raising $703,832, inclusive of a generous $172,271 corporate match. Since 1990, Costco has -- through a combination of corporate donations and fundraising efforts -- contributed nearly $8.2 million to support Valley Children’s. The 23rd Annual KISS Country for Kids Radiothon took place September 9-10, 2021. These two days were filled with incredible enthusiasm from the team at 93.7 KISS Country and the community. The combined efforts made this year's event a success, raising $102,097 for the kids treated at Valley Children's. Thank you to the amazing staff and DJs at 93.7 KISS Country, who interviewed the families and spoke about their own personal connections to Valley Children's. We truly appreciate our generous sponsors, donors, the gracious families who took time to tell their remarkable stories, the volunteers who kindly gave their time to answer phones, and Derek Carr for providing autographed memorabilia that was auctioned to help raise funds.

This month, generous members of the community have sponsored banners to support Valley Children's and show support for our healthcare heroes in lieu of our annual Harvest Ball gala. The health and safety of our patients, staff and supporters are our top priorities. Despite not gathering this year, our sponsors took part in this extraordinary opportunity to continue to support the children we serve in a unique way. These banners are prominently displayed for the entire month at the heart of Valley Children’s Healthcare’s network, inside Valley Children’s Hospital in Madera. The display is located in the rotunda near the main entrance. It has not only been a symbol of community support to Valley Children’s, but also of hope and comfort to patients, their families and our healthcare heroes.

We would like to thank all of our sponsors for their ongoing commitment to advancing pediatric health in the Central Valley. Your support this year helped raise more than $70,000 to help us provide the nation’s best healthcare for kids.

One of our patients, Jesus, received a generous gift courtesy of a long-time DC4KIDS Touchdown Challenge member, who prefers to remain anonymous, just in time for football season. This donation of an autographed jersey was part of a thank you gift from Derek Carr to the anonymous member for joining the 2020 DC4KIDS Touchdown Challenge. The member in turn had decided they would like to bless a patient with this unique gift.

Jesus, pictured above, was heading home that day after a stay at Valley Children’s. He is a die-hard Raiders fan and was nearly speechless when he saw that he was receiving an autographed jersey of his favorite quarterback, Derek Carr.

We would like to thank our DC4KIDS Touchdown Challenge member for making this unforgettable moment possible. Their ongoing support of this program since its inception six years ago continues to advance Valley Children’s efforts to provide the best care to local children.
