MEET MARY LINDSAY

OUR NEW PART-TIME CENTER DIRECTOR

Mary (she/her) is thrilled to join CSL Nashville as our new part-time Center Director. CLASSES & WORKSHOPS

Creating Our Beloved Community

The Blue Zones

Join Rev. Cath DePalma, via Zoom as we discuss "Live to 100, The Secrets of the Blue Zones", by Dan Buettner, a documentary on Netflix, for our March, Creating the Beloved Community Discussion group.

Through years of study, Dan identified five regions around the world where people live longer, healthier lives than average. These communities are known for having a high number of centenarians who maintain vitality well into old age. The five Blue Zones are: Ikaria, Greece, Okinawa, Japan, Sardinia, Italy, Loma Linda, California, USA, Nicoya Peninsula, Costa Rica.

These regions share common lifestyle habits known as the Power 9 Principles, which include natural movement, a sense of purpose, stress reduction, moderate eating, plant-based diets, moderate alcohol intake (mainly wine), community belonging, prioritizing family, and maintaining social circles.

Join Rev. Cath as we continue our conversations about creating a Beloved Community by exploring how others are living such amazingly long lives and how we might add some of their principles to our own lives and our CSLN community.

In preparation, watch "Live to 100, The Secrets of the Blue Zones" on Netflix.

Resources

Critical Resources List

We now have a critical resources list to assist those in need in finding the help they are seeking. The resources on this list direct those in need regarding emergent situations including crisis events as well as everyday support for needs such as utility assistance, mental health support, medical and transportation assistance, amongst many other categories. This array of services is primarily under the umbrella of United Way's 211 information line. Anyone can access this to help themselves or others.

The critical resources list is available on our website and can be found by clicking on About Us > Teams and scrolling to the bottom of the page. Click the download button for the pdf.

Referral Form

In order to make helping our community even easier, we now have a direct way to refer CSLN members to Caring Hearts for short-term help. The referral form gathers important information that is needed to assist our team members. Every referral request will be reviewed by our Caring Hearts team and responded to in a timely manner. The referral form is at the following web address:https://csln.breezechms.com/form/caringhearts

How You Can Help

You don’t need to be part of the Caring Hearts team to assist. Any support is appreciated! We’ll continue to share updates about our plans, member requests, and other ways you can serve.

If you have any questions, please reach out to us at caringhearts@cslnashville.org.

Thank you for embodying the spirit of care and compassion in our community. Together, we make a difference!

BOOKSTORE BUZZ

The bookstore has ordered the Self-Mastery Class’s books, but they have been slow coming in. Please check with me to see if they have come in. We only ordered five books because there were only five people enrolled at the time, so you may need to find another source, but check first.

We ordered a new prosperity book: The Abundance Book by John Randolph Price. This little book has a wealth of advice on prosperity. It’s small enough to carry in a pocket or purse. This book is priced at $6.00 per copy.

We also received an order of This Thing Called You, by Ernest Holmes. This little book is one of the most requested books written by our founder. It’s a small book, and easy to read. If you are new to Science of Mind, it’s a great introduction to our beliefs. And for veteran members, it’s a good review. This book is priced at $15.00.

Also, don’t forget that we still have a supply of Candy Paul’s books, both the Art of books (only $5.00) and the 101 Ways books ($2.50 per book). They make great presents!

If you need any other literature, including the Science of Mind textbook and Living the Science of Mind, come see me. I am in the bookstore after the service every Sunday. The bookstore is located to the right of the lobby, in the same space as the classroom, but on the left side of the room.

We also have a small lending library in the Meditation Room. If you want to browse that, it is open before Meditation and after the service, and if you want to donate to it, please let me know. Our space is limited, but we appreciate all donations.
