Greetings From
St. Thomas Episcopal Church
Confirmations
Bishop Kym is pleased to be celebrating regional in-person Confirmations again this spring and summer and it’s not too late to prepare! The confirmations for our High Plains Region will be held on August 14, 2021 at St. John's Cathedral in Denver.

Confirmation is the sacramental rite in which the candidates "express a mature commitment to Christ, and receive strength from the Holy Spirit through prayer and the laying on of hands by a bishop" (BCP, p. 860).

Reception is for persons who have been baptized with water in the name of the Trinity, have previously made an adult public affirmation of faith in any other Christian Communion (either at
their Baptism or on a separate occasion) and now desire to live their faith within the fellowship of the
Episcopal Church.

If you desire to be confirmed or received into the Episcopal Church this summer there are two paths of preparation for you. Journey to Confirmation: 4-Week Confirmation Preparation Series with Groups for Adults & Youth will be provided by the diocese over ZOOM April 25, May 2, 8 (Saturday), and 16, 1:00-2:15 pm.

The Rev. Terri Hobart will also offer preparation classes over four Sunday afternoons this summer. Please email Terri+ if you are interested in confirmation or confirmation classes.

All are encouraged to join the classes even if they may not feel ready to commit to confirmation, reception or re-affirmation of their faith this year. This is a great opportunity to learn more about our faith, theology, liturgy, polity and traditions.
Will you seek and serve Christ in all persons, loving your neighbor as yourself?
Assistance for Justi and Andrew
Due to your generosity and expression of Christian love we were able to send Justi and Andrew $2,875 to help them recover from the fire that destroyed most of their belongs. St. Thomas supplemented the $1,875 received from parishioners with an additional $1,000. If you were not able to send in your donation and would like to offer support, you can do so here.

Cards can be sent to Just and Andrew at this address:

Thursday Evening Book and Discussion Group
On April 15th and 22nd at 6:00 p.m. this lively group will discuss the heroine's journey through the lens of Madeline Miller's book, Circe. All are invited to join via ZOOM.
SPIRITUAL PRACTICES:
EXPLORATIONS IN PRAYER AND MEDITATION
To move from knowing about God to a direct experience of the divine, we need to cultivate spiritual practices. This group meets weekly to explore various forms and techniques of meditation and contemplative prayer and to support each other as we deepen our personal practices. No prior experience with contemplative prayer or meditation is needed. This group meets over ZOOM Tuesday at 5:00 p.m.
Gardening Guild and Community Garden
Weather permitting, the Gardening Guild will meet May 22nd in the courtyard at 9:00 for coffee, conversation, and light weeding. This will give us an opportunity to discuss our summer projects!
