As we look to the close of the year, we are thankful for your support through past seasons and more to come. Here are a few updates from us:

RATE SHEET

We have revised rates for a few of our properties by a small inflationary increase of about 1%, effective immediately on all new bookings. Affected properties are Nkwali Camp, Tena Tena Camp, Nsefu Camp, Luangwa Bush Camping and Kuthengo Camp.

Kuthengo Camp Park Costs have increased to $72, effective immediately.

Main domestic transfers and flights for Zambia, Malawi and Zimbabwe are now included.

Note: Our property rates are applicable on all new bookings and valid until further notice. Please go ahead and use these rates for any future enquiries.

SELECTING THE BEST TIME FOR A SAFARI

Offering safaris to your clients can be very fulfiling and yet daunting at the same time... The diverse landscapes and wildlife behaviors in different regions make timing a crucial factor in ensuring an unforgettable safari experience.

Consider the wildlife events that align with safari expectations. If the interest is bigger game, then the dry season is your go-to period as game tends to congregate around limited water sources. On the other hand, if preference is the lush green landscapes, beautiful new growth and vibrant migratory birds, the emerald season might be better suited.

Whatever the case, we have something for every season:

JANUARY - MARCH

In Zambia and Malawi, as the emerald season unfolds with abundant rains, the scenery undergoes a striking transformation. The once arid landscape transforms into a lively green haven, adorned with flourishing vegetation and meandering watercourses which our River Journeys makes the most of.

APRIL - MID-MAY

As the rainy season concludes, lush landscapes and delightfully comfortable temperatures prevail. Previously impassable regions in Zambia, Malawi & Zimbabwe become accessible again and ready for exploration. Exciting safaris await including David Rogers Photographic Safari.

MID-MAY - JUNE

The rains may be long gone but the landscapes in Zambia, Malawi & Zimbabwe remain beautifully vibrant. Our seasonal bush camps re-open and the terrain, now sufficiently dry, invites exploration on foot, which we take full advantage of with our Walking Safaris. If you are looking for a bucket list experience, then our annual Shoebill Safar i is the highlight of June as it is a great trip whether one is a keen birder or not.

JULY - SEPTEMBER

Although our region may be in the midst of winter during July, it presents a splendid opportunity to discover the charms of Malawi, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. July and August bring cooler temperatures, and the heat begins to intensify in September, creating optimal conditions for an African safari, particularly our Mobile Walking Safaris . The arrival of the stunning carmine bee eaters in September is the cherry on the cake.

OCTOBER

Entering the last month of the dry season, the landscape is now parched, and temperatures are exceptionally high compared to other months, yet revered as some of the finest safari experiences such as the Classic Zimbabwe safari.

Acting as a prelude to the rainy season, this period features sparse, arid foliage makes it a fantastic time for wildlife viewing as well as water sports on Lake Malawi.

NOVEMBER - DECEMBER

The onset of the emerald season in Zambia, Malawi, and Zimbabwe marks a remarkable rejuvenation of the wilderness, encompassing both flora and fauna. While our bush camps in Zambia and Zimbabwe temporarily close, and walking trails in Zambia come to an end, it presents an excellent opportunity for off-the-beaten-track experiences with our specialist safaris. Take it a step further and offer them emerald Christmas with us! Our Warm Heart Safari makes the most of this season!

Pumulani dhow - we are delighted to share that our hand-made dhow will be back on the Lake from mid-December 2023.

We believe that experiencing camp/lodges and destinations firsthand is the best way to equip yourself to sell from the heart. With that in mind, we would love to have you come and stay with us across our properties.
