Unpack & Unwind

Whether you want to stay near the village, on the mountain or tucked away on a dirt road, there are lots of places to stay in and around Burke.

Enjoy 13 acres of privacy at Play Hard Mountain Sports, a beautiful post and beam home located just a half mile from the Kingdom Trails Kirby Connector.  This amazing home has 3 bedrooms, a high end kitchen and sleeps 10 people. There's even a small pond on the property.

You'll find clean, comfy rooms at the Lyndon Motor Lodge and some are even dog friendly if the pooch is getting in some vacation time.  Located just a quick drive to Northern Vermont University, Kingdom Trails and many great shops and restaurants, the lodge offers very affordable rates starting at just $60 per night.

Head out the backdoor and onto the trails at Burke Sugar Shack.  There's room for 6 people, wifi, a fully equipped kitchen, outdoor deck, grill and even locked storage for your bikes.  It's the perfect spot for a group getaway that's close to, but tucked away from, the village.

Peace & quiet on the edge of the sugarwoods awaits you at Blake's Cape in West Burke.  This 3 bedroom home features a beautiful sunroom, country views and is just a quick drive to Lake Willoughby, some great hikes and Kingdom Trails.

If you're looking for some downhill action, the Burke Mountain Hotel offers a great Bike & Stay deal for two.  Enjoy a stay in a studio suite for just $179 per night and choose between passes to Kingdom Trails or the Burke Mountain Bike Park.  The hotel offers many amenities including a fitness center, outdoor pool, hot tub, family arcade, laundry facilities and secure bike storage.

You can purchase tickets directly through the facebook page or at Rubylee's Ice Cream in East Burke Village.  The drawing will be held at the Burke Fall Festival on September 28th (you don't need to be present to win).
Vittles and Libations!

Summer means dinner al fresco, drinks on the porch and sunset views with wine.  Fortunately, there are lots of ways to stay nourished and hydrated in this neck of the woods.  A popular spot is the one and only Mike's Tiki Bar featuring over 30 microbrews on tap as well as a great selection of wines and on-site food trucks offering  wood fired pizza, burgers, burritos, tamales and more.  Starting August 9th, the bar is featuring  Friday Night Drinks .  Each week features a different brewery with the brewers on site to talk about their creations and pass around the giveaways.

For indoor or patio dining, head on over to the Burke Publick House, a mountain gastropub with great food including Fish & Chips, Wings, farm fresh salads and lots of kid friendly or vegetarian choices.  A robust draft menu includes lots of Vermont brews including Von Trapp, Citizen Cider and 14th Star Brewing.  The impressive craft cocktail list includes everything from a Green Mountain Cosmopolitan to a Chocolate Covered Pretzel Martini.

Nothing says summer like a Mojito!  Check out the Foggy Goggle Osteria for Mexican Mondays with menu choices like Fish Tacos, Pork Carnitas or Enchiladas.  Of course, the margaritas will be flowing, too!

Everyone's excited about the new addition to East Burke Village,  The Orange Rind .  It's now open and is a great place to stop and get nourished while you're out and about adventuring.  The menu includes smoothies, acai bowls, salads, quinoa bowls and more.  Enjoy the river view on the gazebo bar featuring beer, wine and cocktails.

If you prefer a less bustling place to chill after a day on the trails,
The Hub Trailside at the Village Sport Shop is open until 6 or 7pm.  Take off the helmet, put your feet up, grab a craft brew or cider and enjoy the view from Darling Hill.

If it's Tuesday and you need some dinner to go with your beer, head next door to Juniper's for Burger & Beer night.  Enjoy a grass fed burger and craft brew of your choice for just eleven bucks!  For lunchtime, check out the Spoke Easy Lounge and Beer Garden next door for wraps, salads, beer and wine.

Just up the road at the Inn at Mountain View Farm, the Handlebar Biergarten is open for business!  Swing by for a cold one, a light snack, friendly faces and maybe even a wagging tail.  Beers include Hill Farmstead and Fiddlehead or enjoy a glass of vino.

Up on the Mountain, The View Pub is open 7 days a week and offers everything from a Classic Reuben Sandwich to Grilled Hawaiian Ahi Tuna.  You definitely have to order the amazingly addictive Bleu Chips!   Wash it all down with one of the many craft brews on tap or a concoction from your friendly bartender.

Over in West Burke, Next Trick Brewery is open Wednesday - Sunday.  Grab a seat inside or out and enjoy a tasting menu of brews including Sugarhouse Road Ale, Willoughby White and Langsam Lager among others.  Be sure to take some home to share in the form of a 32 ounce Crowler or 64 ounce Growler.

Enjoy a view of Lake Willoughby over at Gil's Bar & Grill at The Willoughvale Inn.  Menu items include Switchback Ale Battered Cod, House Smoked Ribs, Burgers, Lobster and more.  The bar opens at 3pm, Tuesday - Sunday and offers an extensive beer and wine selection along with a full cocktail menu.

Of course, if you need to stock up for drinks on your own porch and you're in the West Burke area, you want to stop into Mike's Gas for a variety of beers and a very extensive wine selection.  Over on the east side of things, East Burke Market has you covered as well.
