Unpack & Unwind

Whether you're coming to Burke to enjoy the last hurrah of Summer or an early peak at the fall colors, there are lots of options in the area.  A post labor day getaway is also a great way to enjoy all that Burke has to offer without the summer crowds.

Hide away at the   Kirby Hideaway  while still enjoying easy access to Kingdom Trails.  The home sleeps up to 10 people and offers amazing, panoramic views in all directions.  Enjoy a spacious outdoor space with a grill and fire pit.  Dogs are welcome and there's even a plug in for electric cars.

There's still time for taking a dip in the lake and Crystal Lake is still pretty warm.  May Brook Cottages is located on the lake, just 50 yards from the beach.  Fall asleep to the sounds of the waterfall in these 1 and 2 bedroom cottages with kitchenettes and screened porches.  Golf and many hiking trails are nearby.

Check out Kingdom Getaways for pet friendly, Chalet style vacation rentals with trails just out the front door.  The two bedroom poolhouse even has a sauna and outdoor pool.  Enjoy a chalet stay between September 9th-20th and get 25% savings!

Located right in East Burke Village, KT Cabin is perfect for a group vacation offering 5 bedrooms, a chef's kitchen, fireplace, game room and large yard.  There's room for up to 13 people in this 2,000 square foot 'rustic' cabin.

There's lots happening this month and the Comfort Inn & Suites is the perfect place to call home so you can be close to all the action from foliage festivities to Planetarium shows.  A variety of suites and rooms are offered including pet friendly options and your stay includes breakfast, WiFi, use of the indoor pool, fitness area, arcade room and more.  You can join the Choice Privileges Rewards program for free and get access to exclusive perks and discounted rates,

Deal of the Month

A great way to enjoy the area and check out the fall colors is via a river paddle.  Clyde River Recreation is open through October and offers canoe, kayak and paddleboard rentals plus all inclusive paddle trips.  Leave the car so they can shuttle you upstream and then paddle on back down the lazy river.  Rentals can be by the hour, day or week and range from $10-$150.  Paddle trips start at just $21.20 per person.

Almost Time for the Burke Fall Festival!

Make plans to head to Burke on Saturday, September 28th for our annual Fall Festival in East Burke Village.  It's a full day of fun starting at 10am with the parade.  This year's parade theme celebrates 100 years of the Burke Mountain Club.   Make sure to stop into the Club/East Burke Library during the festival and check out the bake sale and get your bids in for some great items at the silent auction.  On the green, over 80 vendors will be showcasing their wares so think holiday shopping.  The day's events also include live music, wagon rides, a Raptor Encounter with Vermont Institute of Natural Science, farm animals, bounce houses, rubber ducky races, face painting and much more!  Of course, it's not complete with a good ole' country BBQ!

The festival is truly a community event with many local folks volunteering and many local businesses sponsoring the event.  We are grateful to all!
