Peakin' in Burke!

Foliage season is at peak in these parts!   Come on over and enjoy our most colorful season.  There are lots of ways to explore whether you want to take a hike or enjoy a paddle below the cliffs and colors of Pisgah.  For a lazier paddle, check out Clyde River Recreation.  A great way to enjoy the sights in the forest is via a guided ATV tour with NEK Adventures.  Another must do for the fall bucket list is a drive up the scenic Toll Road at Burke Mountain.  Park at the top and follow the trail to the fire tower and take in the 360 degree view of the White Mountains and more.  The mountain is also offering chair lift rides that offer views of Willoughby Gap and surrounding mountains.   There are a few weeks left to mountain bike and Kingdom Trails has a new offering called the Flower Brook Trail which is a 3 mile connector trail to the East Haven trails.

Unpack & Unwind

It's a great time to visit Burke whether you come early this month to check out the peak foliage or come later to enjoy the peace & quiet of the country along with low off season lodging rates.

The Lyndon Farmhouse on Darling Hill Road is also home to the Serenity Spa.  You can now rent the entire 5 bedroom home that includes a huge, commercial grade kitchen (there's even a beer tap), washer/dryer, 4 season hot tub and, of course, that amazing Darling Hill view.

Tucked away just up the road from Burke Mountain, Wilderness Lodge sleeps up to ten people (dogs allowed, too) and offers a full kitchen with new appliances plus a backyard grill and spacious yard for enjoying the crisp autumn nights.

Snowed Inn the NEK is located just a stone's throw from Burke in the neighboring town of Newark. It's a great spot to call home so you can explore in all directions. You can bike KT one day and head north on another day to paddle Lake Willoughby.  There are lots of smaller ponds close by and lots of woods for those on a hunting trip.  Rent one or all four guest rooms that include common use of a full kitchen and living room.  Stay 6 nights and the 7th is free!

Deal of the Month

Make it a point to dine out, enjoy a spa treatment, a weekend getaway or a biking adventure during the weekend of October 25-27.  Why??   Because local businesses are joining together to give a portion of their profits to Kingdom Kids.  What's that?  Kingdom Kids is a non-profit, volunteer organization dedicated to providing outdoor recreational opportunities to Northeast Kingdom children who would not otherwise have the chance to participate in these activities.

Participating Businesses include:

Foggy Goggle Osteria in East Burke
The Serenity Spa in Lyndonville
Sno Bear Lodging in East Burke
Kingdom Cycling & Experiences in East Burke
