SNOW!

Mother Nature has been generous with the snow this year. No matter how you like to enjoy the outdoors, there's plenty of that white stuff around for all paces and ages. It's a great time to visit Burke and enjoy the bounty. Pack up the kids and the gear and head on over!

Deal of the Month

There are a lot of great animal welfare organizations in the area and one of them is Kingdom Animal Shelter. Of course, they have lots of great cats and kittens for adoption, but if you aren't able to adopt, there are lots of ways you can help the critters.

KAS has an online store where you can purchase shirts, calendars and more with proceeds used to help the cats in their care as well as animals in the community.

KAS offers rabies clinics for cats and dogs, runs a trap/neuter/release program for feral cats, offers assistance to people in the community who need help caring for their pets and more.

If you can't adopt, you can still support the shelter in lots of fun and inexpensive ways including purchasing merchandise from their online store or attending one of the many events they host. This month, there's a Spaghetti Dinner on the 7th and next month there's a Needle Felting Fundraiser. A couple of times per year they host Yard Sales to benefit the shelter. They even host Yoga Classes with Cats!

Unpack & Unwind

Lodging choices abound in the area where you can make yourself at home and find winter adventures just out the back door or a quick drive away.

Burke Basecamp offers a great location with direct access to Kingdom Trails. The custom-built, 3 bedroom home features a coffee bar, gas woodstove and local artwork adorning the walls. There's even a ping-pong table and corn-hole set up in the garage for fun & games!

Burke View Villa is located on a quiet road, but is still walking distance to village restaurants and shops. The one bedroom rental has room for up to 4 people and offers secure storage for your gear. It's just down the road from the slopes.

Rock Garden Rentals offers several luxury cabins in the area, each with direct access to VAST Snowmobile trails. Cabins feature Smart TV's, WiFi, back-up generators, secure gear storage, stone fire pits and more.
