Welcome Thom!
Clarke’s 16 th  president, Thom D. Chesney, Ph.D., had a busy first week at Clarke and in Dubuque. Thom joined the Clarke community on July 15. He was welcomed by faculty, staff, and students at an ice cream social, shared lunch with Clarkies from the Adobos Mexican Grill food truck, took part in a staff potluck, engaged in conversations with Clarke Board of Trustee members, and attended various events in the Dubuque community.
Thom is sure to be seen in the hallways greeting staff and students by name and getting his morning coffee at the welcome desk. Thom shared, “I am in the midst of orienting myself to the people, practices, and procedures of Clarke. There have been a lot of moments of listening and engaging. The connections between people and families that lead to partnerships, collaboration, and inclusion - I’m looking forward to more of that.”
