1 cup butter
1.5 cups powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 egg
2.5 cups flour
1 tsp soda
1 tsp cream of tartar
1/4 tsp salt
Cream butter and sugar. Add egg and mix. Add remaining ingredients mixing well. Chill minimum of one hour to overnight.
Roll out 1/8 to 1/2 inch thick. Cut with Christmas holiday cookie cutters. Bake at 350 degrees for 6 to 8 minutes. When done cookies are light brown only around the edges.
Frost with your favorite holiday colors and sprinkles.
