Daily Prayer

Please set aside time each day to pray for 2-3 minutes. This week's prayer starter is:

"God, you are with me.  You are my God.  You strengthen me.  You help me.  You uphold me.  When I am afraid, help me to know I am not alone and to be comforted and strengthened by your presence..."

Gathering Jam
This Sunday,
July 8

This Sunday, July 8, gather in the sanctuary about 9:45am with your guitars, or other C instruments, and jam along to a variety of tunes new and old.  This is an opportunity for folks to express themselves musically through their instruments.  Even if you can only play 3 chords on the guitar, come and join us.  The more, the merrier.  We also have hand percussion instruments and a drum kit if you are so inclined. The music will be out on music stands.
Guest Pianist
Karla Stead

On Sundays July 15 & 22, we will welcome guest pianist Karla Stead who will lead the music during our worship services.

Please come and welcome her.
Movie Recommendation
From member Faye Joseph

"Remember the story in the Bible about the sower of the seeds? Pope Francis is truly a sower... This movie shows some of what he does and he is interviewed throughout the movie. He is a huge model for all of us who want to follow the teachings we learn in the Bible. It does not matter your faith... His message is so clear for those of us who care about our world. It is inspiring and thought provoking. I hope if you have this Sunday afternoon free, you will go and see this inspiring man. What a faith!"

Next showing is this Sunday, July 8, 1:15pm at Naro Cinema in Norfolk.

Visit the Naro Cinema website for movie details.

General Fund Pledging
for 2018

Thanks to everyone who has pledged or already given!

$151,290 has been pledged so far, but we need to reach, at least, $155,940 to meet our budgeting goals.

As I'm sure you know, this new chapter in the life of Ghent Church is refreshing. But, it needs your financial support. Please pray for God's guidance about your annual giving. Place your pledge card in the offering plate.

Sanctuary Campaign
Our pledge goal of $60,000 for sanctuary renovations and repairs has been met. Thank you to everyone for helping us to meet this goal. Please send in all pledge donations by August 31, 2018.
