Join us as Pastor Melody begins our new sermon series entitled "Relationship with God" to explore a deeper relationship with God.

Pastor Melody's sermon this Sunday is called "
Everyone is welcome to stay after the service for fellowship.
Please set aside time each day to pray for 2-3 minutes. This week's prayer starter is:

Sunday, May 6 at 10am
On Sunday, May 6, organist
Spencer R. Koger will be playing during our 10am worship service.
He has worked intensively to progress his music studies on both the piano and pipe organ but prefers to continue extensive training towards the organ. He plans on receiving his certificates from the American Guild of Organists, in both Church Music and Performance, by the time he graduates from Christopher Newport University.
Spencer thanks God for giving him the ability to provide music for worship and praise.
Trip to Germany
Would you be interested in taking a trip to Germany in 2020 to experience the once-a-decade Passion Play that has been performed by the villagers of Oberammergau every 10 years since 1634?
Nellwyn Beamon would be interested in getting a group together to do go. If you would like to explore the possibility, please get in touch with her at
It is a very popular event and tours are being booked now. To learn more about the trip, click on the link below.

General Fund Pledging
Thanks to everyone who has pledged or already given!
$151,290 has been pledged so far, but we need to reach, at least, $155,940 to meet our budgeting goals.
As I'm sure you know, this new chapter in the life of Ghent Church is refreshing. But, it needs your financial support. Please pray for God's guidance about your annual giving. Place your pledge card in the offering plate.
Our pledge goal of $60,000 for sanctuary renovations and repairs has been met. Thank you to everyone for helping us to meet this goal. Please send in all pledge donations by August 31, 2018.
