Family and Friends Conversation Starters:

How would you explain the Trinity to a new believer?
Can you think of examples of things in our world that are 3 in 1?
How do you honor or celebrate Memorial Day?
The church office will be closed on Monday, May 31,for Memorial Day.

Planning a meeting or event?

When planning a committee meeting at Grace, please check the date and time with Ann in the office to avoid conflicts and to get placed on the calendar. Don't forget to send a reminder to your group, so that no one misses a meeting. We are all getting back into the swing of having things on our calendars!

Bishop Bard has changed the dial to Blue!
There are no capacity limits for gathering, but social distancing is still highly encouraged and masks are recommended for anyone who has not been vaccinated. We recognize that children and some members may not be vaccinated for some time, if at all. We respect the health and well being of all who gather, and wearing a mask will never be questioned or judged. There are areas to sit towards the back of the sanctuary if you feel comfortable with a bit more distance. Singing is still considered a high-risk practice. If you choose to sing along, rather than hum, please wear a mask to do so.

Small groups meeting indoors, should continue to practice social distancing when possible. For this reason groups should still plan to meet in the Fellowship Hall for now. Masks are recommended for anyone who has not been vaccinated.
The basic rule of thumb is to follow 2 of these 3 protections. Distance, mask, or gather outdoors. This is the best practice to keep everyone as safe as possible.
Over the next few weeks, we will work on plans for children's ministry and the inclusion of food for fellowship times based on the new guidelines.
At the bottom of this newsletter, you can find the link to the Conference website that explains everything in greater detail.
Walking With Grace

There is a group walking together each Tuesday evening at 5:30 pm. We meet in the parking lot at Grace, and then hit the trail. All ages and abilities are welcome. Please join us!

This past Sunday, seven young people said yes to the next step in their faith journey as they were confirmed. It was also a blessing to baptize two of these students into the faith! *
Back row: Axle Amsden*, Paxton Goddard, Mason Lundgren
Front row: Kallie Carlson, Avery Amsden*, Cassidy Wick, Valerie James

Please continue to lift their names in prayer, that they would continue to walk with God as they grow older.

We Need Your Help!  We (Staff Parish Relations Committee) have a great potential candidate for the Director of Children, Youth and Family Ministries position. The last "piece of the puzzle" is helping this family find housing. Due to the nature of our congregation, as local and non-local, we know there is an abundance of resources that could help us in the process and we are asking for your assistance. The need is for a 4-bedroom rental property (3 could work if the bedrooms are larger), that allows children and pets, in the Pequot Lakes (or Brainerd) area, for a maximum of $2,000 per month. They have a home to sell where they are moving from and would plan to buy or build in the future. Please contact John Luce at 218-82zero-37nine-nine with any leads you have.
Thank you in advance for your help and please pray for a quick and successful solution!

Let's Stay Connected!

Have you changed your phone number or no longer use your landline? Has your mailing address changed? Have you returned from warmer climates? If so, please let the office know so that we can update our database.

June Missions--Youth Mission Trips

As you see the June mission focus, you may be wondering why we would request giving towards youth trips, when we do not have a trip on the books for the summer. We are in the process of interviewing candidates to focus on working with youth and families, and it would be great to hand over a program that shows that we are invested and supportive of this population of our church. There is also a group of volunteers working with Pastor Jen to plan some fun activities over the summer.
We are hoping to hold the Annual Rummage Sale this year, but the date has not been determined. We are working to re-organize the garage currently, so we would appreciate it if nothing got dropped off at this time, without consulting the office first. Thank you!

We Need Ushers
As we head into summer, we know that calendars fill up. It would be great to have a larger pool of ushers to pull from, to ensure that we have ushers each Sunday!
Two people are needed to greet and usher each Sunday. Please call Larry @ 218- 963-3765 or Thank you!

Welcome to Camp Minnesota!

Grace Kids, Teens and Families

It's time to think about registering for a summer camp experience. Camp Minnesota information can be found by clicking the link below. Check out all the amazing opportunities that the camp staff are planning for a safe camp experience.
Every year the Grace United Methodist Women (UMW) offer a scholarship to Grace children, youth and families who register to attend a Minnesota United Methodist Camp. The scholarship is named for Marnie Luce, mother of John Luce, who was a huge supporter of the camp experience.
Copies of the scholarship fund policy are available in the Grace office. Some of the guidelines are:
 * Scholarships are awarded on a first come basis in the amount of $50 per person.
 * Online applications for the scholarships are due to the UMW treasurer, Le Sears by June 1, 2021.
*A copy of the camp registration along with a copy of the $100 deposit is requested. Upon receipt, the dollar amount of the scholarship(s) will be made to you.

Our Bishop has turned the dial to Blue.
