Fashioned for the 21st Century at the Knights of Columbus Museum
1 State St., New Haven

Founded in the basement of St. Mary’s Church on Hillhouse Avenue 137 years ago, the Knights of Columbus has expended its presence as far as the Pacific Rim of Asia, but has always called New Haven “home.”

A new Knights of Columbus Museum exhibit, “Fashioned for the 21st Century,” recounts each of the organization’s seven office locations in the city on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of its present headquarters building at the corner of Church Street and M.L.K. Jr. Boulevard.

The iconic tower with its four, tile-clad exterior columns was designed in modernist style by renowned architect Kevin Roche (1922-2019).

The exhibit, which continues through June 14, 2020, is supplemented by artifacts, photographs and archival documents along with statistics about all seven headquarters locations.
