Continued Connections

in the Community!

Hello, Knightdale! While the temperatures continue to challenge us all this summer, I'm excited about the opportunities I get to make connections in the community. Here are just a few!

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns about anything going on in our amazing town of Knightdale!

Health and Wellness

in Knightdale!

When Knightdale citizens start something, they really start something! I was excited to attend the first Health and Wellness fair hosted by SEANC in our community. As noted in our town’s Strategic Plan, we embrace opportunities to provide healthy options for citizens, and this event focused on all aspects of wellness: physical, mental and emotional.

I want to send thanks to Representative Roberson for his support at this event. Thank you also to Tracy Webb and her team, as well as the members of SEANC District 42, for an incredible community event!

July Council Meeting Opened

by Champions!

Each month we open our council meetings with the Pledge of Allegiance led by organizations from our local community. This month we had the pleasure of the UNDEFEATED Knightdale Parks and Recreation Pistons leading the Pledge!

This team of 9- to10-year-olds is in the Knightdale summer youth basketball league, and they're being coachec by David Dixon. This is Coach Dixon’s 6th year coaching with Knightdale, which includes him overseeing two all-star teams. Thank you, Coach Dixon, for being an excellent role model for Knightdale youth!

East Wake County Towns Join

to Create New Association

Recently the Knightdale Town Council joined the local governments of Rolesville, Wendell and Zebulon and created the Eastern Wake Local Government Association (EWLGA).

Spearheaded by Councilor Latatious Morris, the Knightdale-hosted meeting allowed the various local government organizations to meet, converse and collaborate together for the first time. We discussed various resources and services that could be beneficial for all of the towns in eastern Wake County, and we celebrated the successes each municipality has enjoyed.

I’m grateful for the leadership of Councilor Morris and everyone who helped make this meeting a success: First & Main event venue, Prime Barbecue and Essie’s Delights.

HARPER PARK MURALS  ARE UNDERWAY!

If you haven’t been by lately, Harper Park is getting a bit of a makeover! In collaboration with the Wake Murals program of the United Arts Council of Raleigh and Wake County, we will soon have some great murals covering the walls of the substation!

Special thanks to artist and designer Sarahlaine Calva for her creative expertise and service to Knightdale!
