New Beginnings are Happening!

Hello, Knightdale! It’s been an active 2022 summer, and the fall is gearing up to be just as exciting! Here are a few past and present highlights you should know.

It's Back to School Time!

Can you believe it’s time for many of our Knightdale students to head back into the classrooms? My goodness - where has this year gone?!

To our youth already in or preparing to return to school, I encourage you at the onset of the year with a quote by Abraham Lincoln: The best way to predict your future is to create it. Go forth this year and make the most of your time and efforts! We’re rooting for and counting on you!

I got a chance to welcome students and teachers back to Neuse River Middle School. I’m excited to see what the year holds for everyone!

Spending Time with East Wake Education Foundation Families!

Earlier this summer I had the privilege of reading to kids and families at East Wake Education Foundation in Wendell to celebrate "Bugs and Garden" day. EWEF offers free early childhood learning to eastern Wake County families with children ages birth to five. Special thanks to the ExecutiveDirector, Shannon White, for the invitation and opportunity to serve East Wake families!

Knightdale Town Administrators Host Economic Development Tour for State Leadership

I recently hosted a small economic development tour with Jason Brown, Development Services Director, and Bill Summers, the Town Manager of Knightdale. We had the pleasure of showing Senator Dan Blue and Representative James Roberson a few major project sites throughout our town, and talking with them about project updates.

We started at Harper Park and showcased the new pickleball courts, and then we ventured to Flowers Street where Habitat for Humanity is building a new home project.

We then visited the new homes in Knightdale Station built by Toll Brothers, and the Merritt Properties development. This is a flex space that business owners can lease to scale based on their needs.

We are striving to cater to the diverse needs of our business partners in the private sector, and we were grateful for Senator Blue and Rep. Roberson for taking the time to see the progress of these endeavors.

Special appreciation goes to the Rotary Club of Knightdale for this Governor’s Award I recently received. This award is given by the Rotary District Governors to club members who reached their goals. I’m so happy to be a part of a thriving organization that has integrity, service, and goodwill at the heart of its mission. Thank you so much for this recognition!
