A Season of Service

and Giving!

Hello, Knightdale! I trust you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends, and you're gearing up to have a merry winter holiday! I wanted to share some recent events I attended in Knightdale and throughout Wake County, as well as a few things going on with our citizens and community.

Neuse River Middle School Students

Lead the Pledge of Allegiance

I never get tired of seeing our young citizens stepping up in the name of service, and this month's Town Council meeting was no different!

Thank you to the students of Neuse River Middle School, who led the Town Council and meeting attendees in the Pledge of Allegiance. It's no small gesture to stand in front of everyone and take on a leadership role, so I commend each of the students for their courage. We appreciate you!

Mayor Day Attends the Rotary Club Gala

No one does a night out better than the Knightdale Rotary Club, and this year they did so with style and service as the priorities! The Rotary Club Gala was not only a beautiful affair, but it was a very successful fundraiser!

The Rotary Club is a service organization whose purpose is to bring together business and professional leaders in order to provide humanitarian services, encourage high ethical standards in both public and private sectors of business, and to advance goodwill and peace around the world. I'm so grateful to be a part of a wonderful organization and amazing group of service-oriented professionals and community members.

The New WCPSS Superintendent

Calls on the Community

The Wake County Public School System has a new leader at the helm. Dr. Robert Taylor met with members of eastern Wake County in a focus group session as a part of his 100-day entry plan.

I, along with other mayors in Eastern Wake and Representative James Roberson, sat with Dr. Taylor and other community leaders to discuss areas for celebration in our communities as well as opportunities for growth that will bring our district to the next level of national excellence.

The theme of the event was "Success Through Listening, Learning and Connecting." It was a great day of networking and ideation, and I look forward to seeing what Dr. Taylor and our eastern Wake County leaders achieve together this year.

I hope you can join me at the following Town events!
