Hello Friends,
Summer has officially arrived in Port Ludlow, and the energy is unmistakable. Long days, warm evenings, and that unmistakable July glow make this one of the most vibrant times to be here.
Local farms are in full swing, and we’re seeing the bounty come through our doors daily—berries, greens, herbs, and more, all inspiring the kitchen in delicious ways.
Whether you’re kayaking in the bay, exploring Chimacum Valley farms, or simply relaxing on a deck with a cold beverage, July brings endless reasons to linger a little longer.
I would also like to share a project we are working on that is near and dear to my heart. Please save the Date and more details to follow.
| | |
We are pleased to be working with our own Jefferson County Humane Society in an effort to raise desperately needed funds.
This facility does so much but is lacking the funds needed to sustain the quality service they offer. So we are hosting a dinner auction event on August 21st where we have put together an amazing dinner event that will make our pet loving hearts melt.
Cheers,
Dan Ratigan
General Manager

FEATURED FARMS FOR JULY!
We’ve been incredibly fortunate to work with a vibrant community of local farmers and artisans over the years.
For July, we’re highlighting a unique story of growth, collaboration, and delicious success—what began as a single farm has blossomed into several interconnected businesses:
Finnriver Farm & Cidery | Stellar J Farm | Chimacum Grainery | Chimacum Valley Brewery
Our partnership with Finnriver goes back over 15 years. It all began at the Home Farm, where Keith, Crystie, and Eric built a visionary model for sustainable farming that continues to evolve and thrive.
| | |
A few years ago, they passed the farming reins to Janet and Jeff, who now run what’s known as Stellar J Farm. Their produce is outstanding, and their blueberries might just be the best in the world.
You can find their beautiful fruits and vegetables at the Port Townsend Farmers Market every Saturday through December.
| | Janet & Jeff at the PT Market | | Meanwhile, Keith, Crystie, and Eric have poured their energy into Finnriver Farm & Cidery, just a short drive from the original home farm. This special spot has become a beloved community gathering place, with orchard-grown apples pressed into their renowned craft ciders. If you're visiting us here at the Port Ludlow Resort, Finnriver is a must-visit destination. | | Keith showing Chef Dan grains | | But the story doesn’t stop there. Keith also began growing and milling wheat right here in the Chimacum Valley. His grain is used to produce fresh, local flour, which is turned into pasta, and even becomes the dinner bread we proudly serve at the Fireside—baked in a stunning wood-fired oven. | | And as if that weren’t enough, Keith is now cultivating hops for their latest venture: Chimacum Valley Brewery—brewing small-batch beer that’s every bit as thoughtful and flavorful as everything else this team touches. | |

Stitch & Sip – A Monthly Gathering for Fiber Friends
Calling all knitters, stitchers, crocheters, and fiber lovers!
After 15 years of hosting our beloved knitting retreats, it finally hit me—why not open the circle a little wider and create something special for our local (and not-so-local) crafting community?
When our June retreat guests suggested the name “Stitch & Sip” to include all kinds of fiber arts, I knew we were onto something good.
| | |
So here it is—Stitch & Sip at the Inn.
Join us on the first Thursday of every month for a relaxed and cozy evening filled with good company, light snacks, and curated sips from our wine collection. $25/person
| | | |
We’ll provide a bright, comfortable space so you can work on your latest project while connecting with fellow makers.
Whether you're a knitter, crocheter, embroiderer—or just want to hang out with creative folks—this gathering is for you.
Bring your friends, bring your needles (or hooks or hoops), and come get inspired. We can't wait to stitch, sip, and share stories with you.
